๐จ๐ฃ GENERAL BODY MEETING!
๐: Oct 28, 5:30 PM
๐: 1462 Clifton Rd Room 230
๐ป : 913 503 216 54 (Zoom)
We will be having our first post-ratification GBM at the end of this month! Our members put in thousands of hours of work to get us our contract. This is a historic win that got our members big gains on stipend, benefits, and worker power. But the fight is far from over, and there are many things the union needs to organize to win for our members both before and during the next contract fight. We want to hear from you! +
We will donuts to celebrate, and a packed agenda! ๐ฉ ๐ We will discuss EmoryUnite!โs constitution and the ratification process - we intend to deliberate on a number of reforms to restructure the union to gear our membership up for upcoming political challenges in the next contract and in the meantime. We hope these reforms will increase transparency and democratic participation within the union. One of these changes will be the formation of working groups: smaller, member-led bodies that organize campaigns and initiatives within the union. If there are specific causes or campaigns that you think the union should organize around, please make your voice heard! โจ

โ๐ฝ ๐ต๐ธ This weekend, a contingent of EmoryUnite! organizers joined several labor unions around the country at the National March in Washington DC to stand against the ethnic cleansing and displacement of Palestinian people, and the political repression of students and workers standing up against these atrocities. An injury to one is an injury to all! Free speech and the right to organize are historic wins achieved by the labor movement, and we will not let the ruling class take them away!
