In this spotlight interview from IMAN Atlanta’s 2026 Service Day, Brother Shabazz shares his passion for youth mentorship and community service.

Working alongside the students of SAVE Institute, we came together to build more than a garden. We’re creating a space rooted in growth, education, healing, and community connection.

Brother Shabazz reminds us that real change starts when we invest in people, especially our youth. His leadership, wisdom, and dedication continue to inspire the next generation to serve and grow together.

From preparation to service, yesterday was a reminder of what community looks like in action. 🌱🤝 Huge thank you to every volunteer, partner, and neighbor who showed up to help transform the IMAN F.R.E.S.H. Community Garden and pour into West Atlanta. This is bigger than one day — it’s about building spaces that nourish and uplift our community for the long term. 💚

Today, we came together to build more than a garden, we built community. 🌱

With the help of students from SAVE Institute, support from our team at IMAN Atlanta, and sponsorship from LISC, we made major progress on the IMAN F.R.E.S.H. Community Garden.

From filling planter beds and spreading mulch to planting seeds and transforming the space together, this service day was powered by teamwork, care, and community investment.
