In response to my recent blog about the half-full or half-empty glass, one of my friends sent me an article titled,

"Is the Glass Half-Empty or Half-Full?"

I found the author’s perspective refreshing and he opened my eyes to another way to see the glass. I hope you take a few minutes to check it out. If you do, follow some of the links – I found many other articles and tidbits that were worth my time and fed my soul. I especially liked: "You Have 2 Options: Dance or Drown"

In the Dance or Drown article, the author provides the following quote:

Don’t wait for the storms of your life to pass. Learn to dance in the rain.

I choose to dance.

Want to dance with me?

Happy Monday!

My husband and I are about to move again...
We have only lived in this home for 4 years but damn, we accumulated a lot of crap.
Again, I am choosing to give or throw or store. So, I recently had to face the day to time to pack my office. Sound like fun? No!

As I began to take things off the wall, I uncovered quotes that moved me in some way (blog coming soon with all of them).

It was like peeling layers of paint away.

Each new discovery was a layer of who I was and what was important to me at the time I pushed a thumbtack into the wall. It was a walk down an emotional memory lane.

I hope these words I recently uncovered by Rumi inspire you in some way today!

"Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray." ~ Rumi

There has always been a debate – can we change our nature; can we change our family patterns?

If it’s possible to change, how can I switch from half-empty to half-full? I have been involved with Streaking (see earlier blogs) for a few months now and have had raving success! Can I find a way to Streak a positive outlook? How do I identify a simple goal that attacks negativity when I almost never notice? I don’t go around all day assessing my attitude. Unless it’s horribly negative or wildly positive, I just don’t pay any attention.

But that led me to another question…

Should I Change?

Half-empty? Or half-full?

We have our house on the market. Is there anything more stressful?

Keeping it clean and so tidy it’s as if no one lives here. I mean, really, does a potential buyer seriously care if I leave my coffee pot drying on the counter? My realtor has convinced my husband, if not me, that it does matter. I get a text and I scurry to pick up the dog’s toys and fluff the pillows and hide the dish towels in the microwave. All the while, psyching myself up for a potential buyer to say, “not interested”.

I intentionally force myself to see the glass as half-empty.

How about you? Read the rest of the story in this week's blog: www.juneconverse.comhalf-empty-or-half-full

"It's never over. If we want to be conscious in our lives, in ourselves, the work is always necessary. You can't undo the injury, but you can always work with what you have." ~ A Warm Heart in Winter by J. R. Ward

Have you ever stopped exercising and then started back again? It's like starting over - the quads quake and the biceps burn. It would have been easier just to keep going.

Our soul work is the same - if we take a break, we find re-starting to be more painful. The work will not go away - ever. The work is the journey.

"Your opinion is nothing but your point of view. It is not necessarily true. We create all this poison and spread it to others just so we can feel right about our own point of view." ~ The Four Agreements by Ruiz

Your point of view is yours and it does not have to become mine. We can exist in a place with multiple points of view! We can grow in an environment with multiple points of view!

Which is harder for you - loving or being? Can we "be" if we don't also love ourselves?

"You can't find happiness looking for the meaning of life. Meaning is only the third most important thing. It comes after loving and being." ~The Humans by Matt Haig

Who Am I?

In April 2012 I had a mental breakdown. The real thing. I have about 36 hours that I don’t remember. Then I have 4 weeks of almost catatonic sitting and contemplating, well, contemplating nothing! Next came 9 weeks of inpatient rehab 600 miles from my family. At the end of that I had:

  • No career

  • No faith that I could trust

  • My family (they were so very supportive)
