(painted) life jacket n°2

my favorite 10oz. unbleached cotton canvas with the most beautiful (the textile, not the collar) 12oz. Japanese bull denim collar. hand painted with acrylic.

what a pleasure this process was. this was a custom piece and my first commissioned painted life jacket. there's one jacket already made ready to go--the last until September.

bikini top crop drop!

friday may 8! 5 pm est!

featuring the first 8 bikini top crop shirts from the "bathing suits I wish I had" series.

this is an ongoing project. I had so much fun doing these last year, so I decided to bring them back. they're a little more involved. a little more *bespoke*. much more personal (because I want these)

and a lot more whimsy.

all tie at the neck and around the back. all have hand beading, applique, and finishings.

all are different!

a bikini top isn't onlyyyyy for the beach. or pool. or lake. I mean, you can wear this one to the grocery store.

See yall Friday! ❤️💕

the wendy dress

is cut from a 1930s hand-tufted chenille coverlet. I decided on a sweetheart neckline, adjustable straps, and an oversized, sweeping shape that hangs away from the body. it's somewhere between a dress and an heirloom.

things really do take a turn when you start designing and making pieces that are missing from your closet.

available tomorrow kpckpckpc.com

mosaic shirt.

after developing and embellishing my own textiles for a while, I went to my textile archives and pulled out these 3 1930s chenille coverlets. they are hand tufted on bleached feedsack cotton. I've had them for about 6 years and had made 2 other shirts with them years ago (which left me with remnants that I couldn't really figure out at the time).

Its so nice to step away for a bit and then come back with a fresh headspace to create something you couldn't see before. It was probably too much overthinking on my part.

this textile is imperfectly perfect in all ways.

Available Wednesday kpckpckpc.com
Or by request.

mate shirt.

Lightweight ecru calico cotton hand painted with a broad arrow motif in black.

(Do you know the history of this motif?)

A beautiful marriage of soft and hard- a bold contrast, this shirt is so visually pleasing to me.

Available IRL tomorrow @ thriftcon miami.

the bikini top

is back for its second summer!

brushed cotton jersey in off-white with Belgian linen applique. Polka dots are made from 10oz unbleached cotton twill with hand sewn Italian glass beads around the perimeter.

the silhouette is muscle-tanky with a raised armhole. The shoulder seam is somewhat wide, but tucked under. So it's like you rolled up the sleeve.

Available IRL on Saturday @ thriftcon in Miami.

Available online 4/8.

blank canvas jacket.

12 oz cotton duck canvas. this is cut in a new silhouette. it's a raglan sleeve with a zipper (I rarely use hardware, so this was fun). there are layered pockets.

But what should I do with this blank canvas?

All and any opinions and thoughts welcome!
