Media Dojo’s TD Velocity Live Lab was a hit!

Special thanks to John Howard for guest teaching and lending his time, knowledge and experience to us. John took us out to the deepest part of the TD ocean and gave us a grand tour. He shared his Super Bowl paperwork with us and showed how he manages so many sources. Thank you much, John. We all appreciate you 🙏

We had 3 students come in and put their hands on the switcher for 40 hours. Here are some things they learned.

- They loaded a file that blanks out the switcher (mostly… John found a couple of things 😂) Then created their own file

- They Source patched, and labeled

- They Button Mapped

- They learned to use auto-recall and the Master EMEM

- Macros, Timelines, Boxes and flying boxes (IDPM and Effects Dissolve)

- They operated the switcher for 16 hours of live production

- They set keyers and leaned to make sources keyable

- They learned to split the M/E’s and create alternate outputs

- They learned to use the Aux Panel and a few typical use cases.

- They learned to use the image store and clip-store

In this Lab we had two Directors that expanded their Technical knowledge and ability. And a hard working Utility that wants to advance and gain the necessary skills to do so. Live broadcasting experience is a must to attend this lab and have it make sense. So, thank you to Troy and the Crew Call community for letting us promote this event.
