The Collective
The Collective is a church without walls seeking to offer a compelling vision of love and belonging.
Virginia Highland's Summerfest is happening this weekend, which means major road closures and limited access to our usual parking lot.
Because of this, we will be gathering for worship at St. John's Lutheran Church this Sunday.
(1410 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, Atl)
Same time (5:00 PM), just a different location. We can't wait to see you there!

70 new trees, a fired-up grill, and a whole lot of dirt.
Throwback to April in English Avenue! We teamed up with GIPL, Historic Westside Gardens, Food Well Alliance, and Trees Atlanta to help neighbors plant 70 fruit and native trees right in their front yards—bringing fresh food and real shade to the block.
Huge thanks to the volunteers who hauled trees and ran the grill. This is what showing up for the city looks like.
“God, we can’t see clearly. God, we’re tired. God, that man is in office again.”
This was our most-shared moment from worship recently, and it’s no secret why: We are all navigating deep, collective fatigue.
But the story of liberation doesn’t end at the edge of the water. When we take the brave step to keep moving forward, we do it trusting that the Divine is moving with us.
Wherever you are on your journey, there is space for your fear, your exhaustion, and your hope here at The Collective. Let’s keep moving forward, together.
Join us for worship this Sunday, June 7th at 5 PM. (We gather on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month and you are always welcome here.)

We love all the street art that can be spotted all around ATL! (Bonus points if you’ve seen this mural in the wild! Chime in in the comments if you know where it is!)
Seeing powerful messages like this painted across our city always reminds us of the heartbeat of our own community. Since we have some fresh faces on our socials, we wanted to take a second to give a quick reminder of what we’re all about.
The Collective is a progressive, queer-affirming, justice-centered church plant right here in Atlanta. We are a community built for spiritual refugees. A place where you can connect with God and each other through authentic relationships and intentional service.
At The Collective, we don’t just TALK about justice. We strive to LIVE it.
We believe that true faith means showing up, speaking out, and building a world where everyone can thrive. We seek to build a different kind of church; one where your liberation and the liberation of our neighbors is central to everything we teach and practice.
Our core message is simple: No one belongs here more than you.
Come as you are. We really mean it. (Mural Artists: & )

Join us this summer as we dive into Bart D. Ehrman's fascinating book, Heaven and Hell: A History of the Afterlife. Together in community, we'll explore some of humanity's most profound questions: What happens when we die? and How did our beliefs change and evolve? History buffs, theology enthusiasts, and anyone curious about the origins of our ideas regarding the afterlife will find a welcoming space for thoughtful discussion and connection in this virtual book club.

Did your childhood church experience rely on terrifying you into salvation?
If you grew up in the church, conversations about heaven and hell were likely centered around fear, control, and emotional manipulation. Often, the goal wasn’t your liberation—it was making sure you avoided eternal torment.
But is fear really God’s final word?
This summer, we’re taking a hard, fresh look at one of the most misunderstood parts of the Christian faith. In our new four-part series, Heaven, Hell, & The Lies We’ve Been Sold, we are going to dig deep and re-evaluate the narratives we were handed.
If you’re ready to do the work of unlearning bad theology and leaning into Christ’s promise of restoration, this series is for you. After all, if God is truly about love, then the end of the story should actually be good news.
Just taking a moment to highlight some of the work that we support. Most people think church is about a Sunday performace. We think it’s about Monday through Saturday too. Emergency rent, power bills, 2,500 meals a year — because loving your neighbor isn’t just a saying.
Join the Gwinnett County Craftivists this Sunday at 9am in Suwanee. We will be making buttons, pins, & patches you can wear at community events to show support to our neighbors.
