That’s a wrap on the inaugural CNN Academy Tokyo 🎌✨

Last week, CNN Academy concluded an engaging, hands-on week of masterclasses and intensive in-person workshops in Tokyo, marking its inaugural edition in Japan hosted at Sophia University.

Focusing on digital storytelling in the age of AI, the workshop was led by CNN award-winning international correspondent Hanako Montgomery, CNN award-winning producer Junko Ogura, mobile storytelling expert Glen Mulcahy, and seasoned media executive David Ford.

Together, they guided participants through the fundamentals of digital storytelling, equipping them with the skills to produce impactful, high-quality stories both ethically and efficiently. The week concluded with participants applying their learnings to create compelling multiplatform projects.

Beyond the classroom, the program provided an immersive opportunity for emerging storytellers to connect with peers and learn directly from leading industry professionals in one of the world’s most vibrant media capitals.
