Vision Boards Are Useless!

Yes, I said it. Every New Year—or let’s be honest, the second week of January—sees a barrage of vision boards pop up like mushrooms after rain. They're festooned with glittering dreams: toned abs, that corner office, and maybe a Tesla (because, environment). The thing is, these boards might as well be mirages in the desert, because without a map and some good old-fashioned water (read: sweat and tears), you're not getting anywhere near them.

People treat vision boards as if they're some magical wishlist to the universe. Newsflash: The universe is busy, and frankly, doesn't care about your Pinterest-inspired collage. What's missing? Oh, just a minor thing called action. That’s right—strategy, planning, and the actual doing part are pretty crucial.

And time? Let’s talk about time. Those grand plans you’ve stuck on your board with a whimsical disregard for the laws of space, time, and your own limitations? They're going to need a bit more than the 12 months you're optimistically giving them. Building Rome wasn't a weekend DIY project.

We also need to address the self-imposed pressure cooker you’ve locked yourself into. Trying to manifest a CEO position with the experience of an intern, without considering the climb, is like expecting a plant to grow without watering it—delusional at best. Incorporating the good book, even the scripture hints at the formula: 'faith without works is dead'. That's James talking sense right there. Faith, sure. But works? That's the kicker.

The Luxury Expat is BAAAAAAACK!

OK, so I've been here 1 week but OMG it felt sooo good to get on a plane and return to my beloved home in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. As soon as I touched down I felt a sense of relief. When I got to my house I was overjoyed! When I got to the beach I was ecstatic! Here's a picture of my office for the day. I acted like I had some sense and got a table in the corner, next to the power outlets, in the shade 'cause it's HOT AF in Playa.

I just wrapped up my 5-Day, AI Powered Content Creation Challenge and it was full of new information hot off the presses. I had a great time teaching attendees all about creating 30-60 days worth of online content in about 2-3 hours using ChatGPT, Claude, Bard and even an introduction to Jasper. This was the first time the challenge was held in the evening Monday through Friday (I usually hold it at Noon during the week) and it seemed to be a better time slot for many students. The consensus is that they learned a lot and several students have already started creating and automating their content for the next couple of months. How cool is that?!? They have content already scheduled for the next 45 - 60 days.
