Come hang out with us at Chapter Chat as we discuss The One and Only Ivan, by Katherine Applegate. This month's book pick not only won a Newbery Award, it also won the most votes and was selected by our young readers at the last January meeting.

The One and Only Ivan is a fictional account of a true story, bringing to life the real silverback gorilla that was eventually taken in by Zoo Atlanta after years of living alone in a cage at a roadside mall. Written in the tradition of Charlotte's Web and Stuart Little, this novel explores themes such as animals, creativity, promises, and friendship.

This will be the second meeting of Chapter Chat, our tween book club. We will meet on Thursday, February 23rd, at 4 pm at the Bogart library. It is open to readers ages 8-12, and we will once again be enjoying a book discussion, trivia, snacks, as well as a book-themed activity.
