Duplicate Bridge Club

RUN, don’t walk, to the lobby of Boyd at 8pm Tuesday, August 19th, for our first meeting of the 2025-2026 year! There will be tables to learn, tables to just play, tables to study but in other parts of the lobby cause we only meet in one corner, and maybe pizza there will be an update in the groupme on that once Matt checks his phone. Swing by if you have any interest in the game, 0 experience required, 0 interest in the game required, and can’t wait to see everyone (again)!

I don’t think the information is actually anywhere on this page which is my bad. Bridge Club meets on Tuesday nights at 8pm in the lobby of Boyd, by the Jittery Joes (we have started lessons at 7pm if you are interested too). We also have pizza for dinner, which those of you in the groupme have been liking for a while it’s actually ridiculous how much yall like the message. But again, my bad that’s an oversight that’s completely my fault 😁.

IMPs down but we’re up. Another year, another great weekend at the GT collegiate! Bids were made, finesses were taken, naps in hammocks were interrupted, but all in all our teams had no complaints because the weekend was a lot of fun. We played, we learned, and we enjoyed ourselves which makes us the real winners (what even are VPs?). Thanks again to for hosting such a fun event with so many great people, and we look forward to next year where we will pull up with a bigger team and walk out with a bigger trophy, even if we have to make one ourselves (which we will, if that’s what it takes to make Dru happy with our bids).

So the British aren’t coming, but you know who is? Matt with pizza. UGA Bridge Club is meeting tonight, Tuesday, January 7th at 8pm at the lobby of the Science Library in Boyd. We know you guys have missed liking the message so we could get enough pizza and we know we will see you there!

It’s been a great semester for UGA bridge. Matt got to teach his Class, Tuesday night meetings saw a lot more traffic, and we got a lot more students into the Athens bridge club! As we wrap up the semester and go into a long, cold winter of bidding with the BBO bots, UGA bridge club just wanted to thank everyone for the efforts they have put into making the club so much fun this past year and we wish everyone a happy holidays! (everyone except BBO bots)

Not the post that was planned but unfortunately UGA Bridge has lost again to GT in our Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate, making us 0-5. However, we had 3 times the players than previous years and that’s a win in and of itself (trophy would’ve been nice too but there’s something to look forward to next year). Thank you so much to our host Georgia Tech and everyone else involved for organising the stream as well as Alan, Robert, and Weilong for their insightful commentary. Truly was a great night of Bridge with some crazy hands and, at the rate we’re going, GT will have something to worry next COFH!

Our esteemed Matt Just has been invited to speak about his favourite topic, Bridge, at the Math Clubs End of Year Social! Taking place in the Matrix room Thursday, November 21st, hear a fascinating talk on the game of Bridge, play a few hands, and meet some of the Club members who are going to help. UGA Bridge club is not liable for any obsession to the game as a result of listening to Dr. Just’s lecture.

We’re so back. Awesome GNT qualifiers so it was the big leagues but everyone pulled through and played great! Probably the first time in the Athens Bridge Club History that the Junior players outnumbered the Seniors so they got blitzed in IMPs and irl.

We had an amazing bridge club meeting yesterday! Looking forward to seeing everyone after the break!
