First Page at UGA is a student organization seeking to promote literacy in Athens-Clarke County! and Canada.
First Book UGA seeks to fill the literacy gap in Athens-Clarke County by providing free books to underprivileged children. In the past year, we have given away over 1,100 books - 2 books to every child at a local Title 1 elementary school. Every $2.50 that we raise equals a brand new book for a child in need. Good morning! We are so excited to be participating in Bulldawgs Against Hunger, a fundraiser supporting the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia. 25% of children in Athens experience food insecurity, and this number is expected to rise due to COVID-19. If you want to learn more about the fundraiser or food insecurity, check out the website (www.bulldawgsagainsthunger.org), Instagram (), or page! If you are comfortable doing so, donations are being accepted via venmo () or through the website. A $1 donation is equivalent to 4 meals!
