Congratulations to Russian tutor and Kazakh instructor Ulbossyn Parmanova on sharing her research on noun number morphology in Kazakh with Georgia students and faculty!

Ph.D student Ulbossyn Parmanova recently presented her research at the 6th Crossroads Graduate Conference, which took place on February 20-21 at the University of Georgia.

In her presentation, titled "No Longer Singular? A Morpho-Semantic Analysis of Noun Plurality in Kazakh," Ulbossyn explored the current state of noun number morphology in the Kazakh language. Her research, based on a corpus of examples of plural noun usage in both spoken and written Kazakh, revealed evidence of changes in singular forms in modern Kazakh, which may be attributed to contact-induced influences.

Congratulations to Ulbossyn on sharing her research with Georgia students and faculty!
