No little gessoboard oil painting panel was ever going to contain this little frog!

The entire painting process of this little raspberry painting in less than 25 seconds 👌

This little lemon wedge painting was a joy to paint. Over the years I’ve painted a few small semitransparent backlit subjects and I’ll paint more of them in the future 👌

This little red balloon painting was way too much fun! I definitely want to paint some larger scale balloons 🎈

I’m working on the 2nd color layer today on this raspberry oil painting and things are starting to really glow!

I’m filming this entire process this time 😉👌

I’ll be creating another wall situation in the near future but for now, who doesn’t enjoy the peaceful serenity of seeing some final brushstrokes in a trompe l’oeil oil painting 🤷🏻‍♂️👨‍🎨

The magic of glazing 👨‍🎨

Today I started adding the 1st of many glazing layers on this little raspberry oil painting. This piece will change quite a bit from now but it is always satisfying seeing the first bits of glazing colors going down!

I’ll start the first color layer on the stem and leaves tomorrow.

questionable decisions, minor disasters, and somehow some progress was made. 🍓

The full studio episode is up now if you want to see how this actually happened.
