This just captures part of the 1st of several glazes. The process of building up glazes which transition to more opaque colors has always been a process I enjoy working with whether it be a portrait or a cheesecake still life 👌

This fun little imaginative realism peace “Hatched” was meant to be a study/ proof of concept for an experiment but I ended up finishing it because I loved it so much!
One of my favorite parts of this little frog painting was that is was partially a painterly-ish landscape and partially a tighter realistic trompe l’oeil frog 🐸
The process of painting several transparent glazes over a grisaille is time consuming but can create a magical glowing finished surface 👌👨🎨
It took many weeks to complete this spaghetti painting and only moments to devour it…the spaghetti I mean, not the painting…please don’t eat the paintings…that’s a general rule 🙃

I’m enjoying my day off…but not as much as Roxy Rocket 🙃🫡
Should be starting the 2nd color layer on this little balloon trompe l’oeil painting tomorrow or Saturday…I’ve also been editing the corresponding instructional videos 👌
