While some of you may have heard that Jacki and I are departing the area, I am here today to confirm that by mid-March timeframe, God has yet again opened another door for us.
We have purchased a log cabin outside of Savannah, GA where we will move and make new memories with four of the most amazing grandsons that we need to play catch up with in our lives. I never thought there would be a day where my Son would say to me “Pop come on home; we miss you” after divorcing his mother. For many years we did not talk nor communicate in any manner (if we did, it was through my daughter) and yet God softened our hearts through Jacki and Church prayers. The process of healing is well under way.
Like the song, “how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now I am found, was blind, but now I see!! Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, and grace my fears relieved. How precious did that grace appear the hour I first believed. My chains are gone, I've been set free, My God, my Savior has ransomed me, and like a flood, His mercy rains, unending love, Amazing Grace.”
I have an amazing story with Community Church. It started before I even knew there was a Community Church. It was a day of sadness, anger, pain and yes, the thought of su***de. But God sent an Angel to rescue me and her name was Jacki. I was full of despair, but her voice lifted me up to a level that made me open my eyes to the Heavens. It was weeks after that, I was driving by and God urged me to visit the 12:30 Sunday Service given by Paster Arlie. Although not convinced about God, I came two more times and heard Pastors Josh and Charlie. I found God and was hooked!!!
Through our time at Community Church, we have so many to thank, starting with God. He blessed us and surrounded us with people who we could help and could help us in time of need. It starts with the Pastors, near and far, like Pastors Arlie, Josh, Charlie, Fred, Alain, Mike, Brian, and Wayland. All men who picked me up when I was down and never once telling me how to live my life but giving me the word of God to think how my life should be lived. They provided a fun packed safe place for everyday people. They welcome young, middle aged (like me) and elders to enjoy one another, meet up in small groups, and interact with others who might be different in what a person might be used to.
Along our journey, we meet some of God’s greatest people like Brother Bob and Sister Nancy Huff. Two of the most amazing people that when they spoke, you listened. Neither one afraid to use God’s word to praise or scold us when needed. It was Brother Bob who asked me to be a greeter at the back door that introduced me too so many of you and for that I am grateful to him. People like Gary May, Jacob Talton, Brett Greene (Brother from another Mother), Chris (who makes the best coffee) and Randy (remember Philly for Jeff Dunham) Smith (and kids), Nelson (go Army Beat Navy) and Sandy Norris (battle buddy at the door), Elizabeth (my work out buddy) Noriega, Peggy and John Orpin, Dean and Missy, and the list could on for pages. Know that you are in our hearts and minds so the memories will never be erased. God bless you all!!!!!
We were able to have social gatherings (Pre-COVID) with great American Veterans Jim and Dean with their wives, Amy and Missy. We attended Fright nights, Date Nights, Sunday Nights, FE Nights and will remember those who crossed our paths such at Jim and Linda McDermott, who have such passion for our youth of America. Through the Legacy Connect Group, led by dear friends Tim and his wife Carman, we had great prayers such as Angela Upshaw/Smith, Loretta Hall, Leah Johnson, Lea Pagliari and Carolyn Whitescarver.
Through God I stood for so many days in the cold, the warm, the rain and the sun on the back door as I hoped I could put a smile on everyone’s face as they entered our Church with a fist bump, a hug, high five or a different Dallas Cowboy shirt that we laughed about.
Through God, we helped stock the food pantry (that also helped us in our hour of need) that aided so many in need and along the way, we meet some more amazing people like Deb (Mrs. Dairy), Erika, and Mr. Bill (who passed away way too early), all the folks at Giant. God Bless them all!!!
It was so many of you, like Pastor Charlie and Sister Jill, Paster Arlie and Sister Jeri, Brother Bob and Sister Nancy, Amy and Jim Kelly, Gary and Debra May, Jacob and DeVonne Talton, Alex and Paul (who were a great help with Chloe and Nick) Irizarry, Jahki Tai Tenquee-Nielsen, Henry (the man) Leonard and so many more who came to our aide when we needed it the most during our 19 months of unemployment where we did not have a job, no income and worried about how to pay our bills. But God came through and we rested on his shoulder. A huge Thank you too all!! We are truly blessed and indebted to your help and guidance.
While this move is a big one, it is not like other moves I have experienced in my Air Force and Army Days. Back in the day, you had a slim chance of ever meeting or hearing from your friends again unless you wrote a letter, put a five-cent stamp on the envelope and put it in a mailbox. Through the age of email, cell phones and Teams, we shall see each other again.
So, this is not goodbye, it is until we meet again either through the age of electronics or in person.
There are folks that I have missed through out this note, please know that it was not intentional, but my memory is not like my computer…..I have a few chips missing.
Jacki and I will try to be at the 2nd service on the 7th of March to see as many of you as we can.
May God be with you and remember to be kind to one another as you have taught me to be.
Go Cowboys!!

A. offers amazing grace in the face of disgrace.
B. allows us to choose to love him or not.
C. graciously bears the pain of our rejection & sin all the while offering life.
D. offers a better & more enduring life.
E. allows us to experience the consequences of our poor decisions.

This Sunday was one for the books. Pastor Charlie blessed us with an encouraging and powerful message as we celebrated all the amazing men in our lives on Father’s Day.
We were so encouraged by all the Dad’s that attended this Sunday both in person AND online. Many of you took time no matter where you were to start your day by praising and honoring God with us.
To all the Dads, we just want to say “Thank You. We Salute you not only on Father’s Day but every day.”

Junteenth is a day of jubilee! This day represents the end of slavery and the emancipation proclamation reaching the slaves in Galveston, Texas. On June 19, 1865 they received news of their freedom nearly 2 months after the end of the Civil War.
Today is a celebration of freedom and progression. As we celebrate, we also stop to pray for continued hope and unity in our country. Happy Juneteenth!

Thanks Dad!
We celebrate you today and everyday.
Happy Father’s Day to all the special men apart of our Community Church family. Thank you for starting your day off with us 😁
