It is the end of the road for Inner Networks. The phone will be turned off tomorrow. I am grateful for the lessons, experiences and friendships I formed over the last 21 years. Thank you to my customers for their support. I wish you well. The time has come for me to take a different road.
IMHO I think Microsoft has shot themselves in the foot with this forced upgrading to Windows 10. Customers remember every sleight. Microsoft is planning to control the programs that you use and where you get them much like Apple has done with their app store. Just on privacy issues alone I'll never own a Win10 box.

Windows 10 Is Now a "Recommended Update" That's Automatically Downloaded Microsoft isn’t forcing Windows 7 and 8.1 users to upgrade to Windows 10, but they are pushing it on them pretty aggressively. Windows 10 is now automatically downloaded to all Windows 7 and 8.1 machines as a “recommended update” with the Windows Update tool—whether you want it or not.
The company I use to host my email and web site moved my account to another server. All works except incoming mail. I can send out but not receive. Will update when it works again.

Microsoft is still supporting Windows 8.1. If you have automatic updates turned on your computer possibly updated itself to 8.1. Hopefully you are not still using Internet Explorer as it is too insecure. Use Chrome or Firefox. Problem here is not individual users it is businesses that have custom equipment and setups that are not willing to upgrade just because Microsoft wants to make some money. Just installed a timesheet app on a client's server and it only works with Internet Explorer. Poor design but there are thousands of setups like this running small businesses.
Microsoft Today Ends Support For Windows 8 Microsoft's push towards Windows 10 continues. Today, Microsoft is ending support for Windows 8, as well as older versions of its Internet Explorer web..
If you plan on upgrading your computer to Win 10 or downgrading from Win 10 to what you had before be sure to uninstall your antivirus software before proceeding with the upgrade or downgrade. Trust me on this one.
A client had a working Win 7 laptop then did the Win10 upgrade. The upgrade did not work. Boots up to desktop and gives 'Critical Error' then shuts down. Upon inspection it looked to me like the free antivirus program 'Avast' is not compatible with Win10. Client did not want to spend any money on a 5yr old computer so bought a new one. So best to uninstall any free antivirus programs before doing the upgrade. Also back up your data just in case the worst happens. Also make sure you have the CDs to return to as bought condition before you start. Most PCs these days you have to create the recovery CDs using your own blank CDs.
Saw a client today that upgraded two of their PCs to Win10 on their own as I was there for another issue. They had no issues with the install but a notice popped up in their Quickbooks 2014 that it was not compatible with Win10. So they had working machines to start with then upgrade to free Win10 but now have to pay $400 for new version of Quickbooks. It is hard to say what will work and not work after an upgrade to Win10 something to keep in mind before you click 'Install'.
