Hi Paul, this is Jerry from Garden View Family Restaurant. I wanted to reach out and sincerely thank you for your generous donation of ground beef to help us serve the Menasha community.

Your donation made a big difference. Thanks to the meat you provided, we were able to prepare more food and feed many more people that day. Seeing so many families come through and knowing that we had enough food to serve more people meant so much to us.

I also want to take this opportunity to thank all the people, families, and businesses who helped make this effort possible.

A very special thank you to Christine Boucher-Davis, Garcia Gisela, Cica Ángel, and their entire family, including the two sisters and the nephew who were there helping us. Thank you so much for donating your time, working alongside us, and helping us prepare, serve, and distribute the food. Your help was extremely important to us.

I also want to thank José Guerrero for his support; Mi Ranchito Mexican Restaurant for their generous donation of carne asada and al pastor; and the Gonzalez family for also supporting us with a donation of rice.

A very special thank you as well to Piña Limón for helping purchase the chicken and the ingredients needed to prepare the mole. Thank you for believing in what we are doing and helping us prepare even more food for the community.

I also want to thank Jefry Montoya for his generous $200 donation, which we used to purchase sodas, water, propane, ice, and other supplies we needed to continue serving so many people.

Thank you also to Ashley, my daughter, and to every other volunteer who was there helping us cook, prepare food, serve, distribute meals, and clean up. Every person contributed something, and together it made a huge difference.

And of course, thank you again to Paul and Sweet Seasons for the generous donation of ground beef. Between the donations of food, ingredients, supplies, money, and especially the time donated by all of our volunteers, we were able to serve many more people.

This is not something one person can do alone. It takes a great team and many helping hands. Without all of your support, I could not do this by myself.

👋 Hello friends, how is everyone doing?

I want to share that this past Sunday, I was contacted by the Lopez family, who invited me to participate in a fundraiser this Saturday. Since it involves preparing food to help a family in our community, of course Garden View will be there. ❤️🙏

📍 We will be at the Luigi’s Pizza parking lot in Menasha, preparing and selling food. All the proceeds from the food we prepare will go toward helping the Lopez family.

I also want to take this opportunity to say something to all the families who were affected and are going through difficult times. We know that many people were affected, and unfortunately, not everyone is receiving the same amount of help. Every situation is different. A lot depends on their insurance, the coverage they had, and the damage they suffered.

That’s why, if any affected family would like to organize a fundraiser like this one, I would be more than happy to help by cooking. I can also help by lending my grill or some of my cooking equipment, especially if you don’t have the equipment needed to prepare the food.

I can’t promise to solve everyone’s problems, but I can offer what I know how to do: cook, make my equipment available whenever possible, and give my time to help our community. ❤️

This Saturday, we’ll be supporting the Lopez family, and we hope to see you there. Every plate you purchase will be another way to contribute and help this family.

Quiero contarles que este domingo fui contactado por la familia López, quienes me invitaron a participar en una recaudación de fondos este sábado. Y como se trata de preparar comida para apoyar a una familia de nuestra comunidad, claro que Garden View estará presente. ❤️🙏

📍 Estaremos en el estacionamiento de Luigi’s Pizza en Menasha, preparando y vendiendo comida. Todo lo que se recaude de la comida que preparemos será destinado a apoyar a la familia López.

También quiero aprovechar para decirles algo a todas las familias que fueron afectadas y que están pasando por momentos difíciles. Sabemos que hay muchas personas afectadas y que, lamentablemente, no todas están recibiendo la misma ayuda. Cada situación es diferente; mucho depende del seguro, de la cobertura que tenían y de los daños que sufrieron.

Por eso, si alguna familia afectada quiere organizar una recaudación de fondos como esta, con mucho gusto puedo ayudar cocinando. También puedo apoyar prestando mi grill o parte de mi equipo de cocina, especialmente si no tienen dónde preparar la comida.

No puedo prometer solucionar todos los problemas, pero sí puedo ofrecer lo que sé hacer: cocinar, poner mi equipo a disposición cuando sea posible y aportar mi tiempo para ayudar a nuestra comunidad. ❤️

Este sábado estaremos apoyando a la familia López, y esperamos verlos ahí. Cada plato que compren será una manera de aportar y ayudar a esta familia.

Well, my friends, I want to tell you a little more about how our Monday went in Menasha, because it was a long day, a lot happened, and thank God, we were able to help and feed many people. ❤️🙏

On Monday, I arrived a little later than usual. It was around 9:30 in the morning, and I was just leaving Garden View. I was running late because I had been preparing everything since very early in the morning.

First, I had to make sure the chicken was fully cooked and ready. I also had the mole, which I had to put inside a cooler so I could transport it. That morning, I also had to go get ice, buy a bigger cooler, get propane, make sure the propane tanks were ready, and load many other things we needed for the entire day.

Honestly, I had so many things that I couldn’t carry everything by myself.

And here I want to give a very special thank-you to Freddy Montoya, because he had sent me a message as early as 4:00 in the morning, offering to help. 🙏❤️ Thank you so much, Freddy, because you came and helped me transport some of the things I couldn’t fit or carry myself.

Finally, we arrived in Menasha and started setting everything up. Thank God, little by little, we started serving and people began arriving.

We were serving mole with chicken and rice, but at the same time, we were also making and serving carne asada and al pastor tacos.

And then something happened that actually made me laugh. 😂 Someone got the idea to ask for a taco with their plate of mole. Then someone else saw the taco and wanted one too… then another person, and another one. Before we knew it, everybody wanted tacos! 😂🌮

Since the line was pretty long, we ended up serving a little bit of everything. Some people had mole with a taco on the side, some wanted mole inside their taco, and others just wanted tacos. Before we knew it, we had mole, chicken, and tacos going everywhere! 😂 But the most important thing was seeing people eating, enjoying the food, and being happy.

By around 12:00 noon, we were already getting close to running out of mole, and by approximately 12:30, the chicken for the mole was gone.

We continued serving with the meat we still had. I also want to thank one of our volunteers who brought approximately 20 additional pounds of meat so we could continue feeding people. ❤️🙏

Between all the food we had brought and those additional 20 pounds, we were able to keep going a little longer, but there were a lot of people coming for food.

During the afternoon, we continued giving away everything we could until approximately 3:30 p.m., when we pretty much had no food left to serve.

No more meat. No more mole. We had given away practically everything we had.

So we slowly started gathering our things, cleaning up, and putting away our equipment. By around 4:30 p.m., we were getting ready to head back to Appleton.

But there was one thing toward the end of the day that really touched my heart. ❤️

A family arrived with several children, and there were also some neighborhood kids from that area with them. Some of the kids looked like they were only around five years old. They already know that we come there on Mondays to give away food, so they came hoping to get something to eat.

Unfortunately, by the time they arrived, we had completely run out of food.

It was a big family, and I really wished I could have served them, especially the children, but we simply didn’t have anything left. The only things we still had were water and a few sodas, so that was what we were able to give them.

That part stayed on my mind because I wish we could always have enough food so that nobody arrives and has to leave without a plate. But we do everything we can with what we have and with everything that people and local businesses help us collect.

This Monday, we may not have had as much meat as the Monday before, but we gave away absolutely everything we had and made the most of every donation we received.

I want to give a special thank-you to Mi Ranchito Mexican Restaurant for helping us with the meat; to the lady from Piña Limón, who helped us with the chicken and the ingredients to prepare the mole; to the volunteer who brought approximately 20 additional pounds of meat; to Freddy Montoya for helping me early in the morning with transporting everything; and, of course, to all of our wonderful volunteers who spent their time helping us serve the community. 🙏❤️

Every person who donates food, money, drinks, ice, propane, ingredients, or simply a few hours of their time is making a difference.

And that’s how our Monday went, my friends. We started very early in the morning preparing and loading everything, spent hours serving food, and finished the day with practically nothing left because we gave it all away.
