This National Womenâs Health Week, weâre reflecting on what it truly means to prioritize the well-being of every person in our community. Health care is at its best when it is comprehensive, accessible, and rooted in the fundamental right to privacy and bodily autonomy.
Last year, our campaign launched a healthcare priority focused on providing basic preventative care to all Americans under the age of 65. This includes essential services like pre and postnatal care, vaccines, and pediatric checkups. However, we cannot talk about womenâs health without recognizing that reproductive freedom is health care.
To truly protect the health of our residents, we must:
⢠Codify the protections of Roe v. Wade into federal law, ensuring standard access to reproductive services.
⢠Protect access to medical care in complex cases, ensuring that after 22 weeks, life-saving care and exceptions for r**e and in**st remain available to those who need them.
In Wisconsin, we know that healthy families start with making sure medical decisions stay between a patient and their doctor. This week, let's recommit to a future where health care is treated as a right, not a privilege.

Listening Circles: 12+ Sessions and Counting! đŁď¸
Building on the success of our rural town halls geared towards conservatives, weâve spent the last several months on a "Listening Tour" across WI-08. From living rooms to community centers, our campaign has now held over a dozen intimate sessions to hear directly from progressives, with a few invites from conservative farmers as well!
Why these small circles matter:
⢠Real Conversations: No podiums, just honest talk about the issues that affect your family.
⢠Community Building: Connecting neighbors over coffee (or something stronger!).
⢠Voter-Led: We aren't just talking; weâre listening firsthand to what progressives in our district need.
Want to host a 10-12 person meet & greet? đ

Honoring Our Educators on National Teacher Appreciation Day
First and foremost, hats off to our teachers for their tireless dedication and hard work! đ
This day holds a special place in Mark Schefflerâs heart. Mark often says, âIf you want to see the face of America, itâs best seen in a public school.â As the only candidate running in the WI-08 district with experience as a public school teacher (Kenosha), he knows firsthand how vital our schools are and how deeply a teacher can impact a studentâs life.
Markâs classroom experience is the driving force behind his commitment to ensuring every student has the opportunity to thrive.
In Congress, Mark will fight to:
⢠Strengthen Public School Funding: Ensure schools are properly supported by closing corporate tax loopholes and modernizing the tax system for the 21st century via the Tiny Tax. He also advocates for re-prioritizing federal spending to put education at the forefront.
⢠Empower Educators: Support programs that encourage new talent to enter the profession and provide the resources necessary to retain our experienced teachers.
⢠Expand Career Pipelines: Help students pursue diverse paths to success, from traditional 4-year colleges to expanded technical education and apprenticeships.
⢠Prioritize Mental Health: Support and fund initiatives that provide students with the mental health resources they need to succeed.
⢠Restore Special Education Support: Champion the restoration of vital funding to special education programs across the country.
Our schools are the foundation of our communityâs future. Today, we celebrate the educators who build that foundation every single day.

Happy Star Wars Day!
Hey neighbors! While you might see a lot of people waving lightsabers and talking about "The Force" today, I wanted to take a moment to join the funâeven if my uniform usually has a slightly different badge on it.
As a dedicated Star Trek fan, I know that today, May 4th, is a big day for my friends in that other galaxy far, far away.
Why am I celebrating Star Wars Day?
Because whether you prefer Warp Speed or Hyperspace, weâre all looking at the same stars. In my campaign, and in our community, I believe in:
⢠Building Bridges: You don't have to choose between a phaser and a lightsaber to be a part of the conversation.
⢠Finding Common Ground: Whether itâs the Prime Directive or the Jedi Code, we all value honor, courage, and helping others.
⢠Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations: Our community is stronger when we respect our differences and celebrate what makes each of us unique.
So, to all the Padawans and Jedi out there: May the 4th be with you!
And to my fellow Trekkers keeping the peace on the Final Frontier: Live Long and Prosper.
Let's keep working together to make our community out of this world! â¨

Happy May Day!
Today is a day deeply rooted in the history of the worker, and nowhere is that history more vibrant than right here in Wisconsin.
Mark is a former member of two unions, the WEA and the CWA, heâs seen firsthand the power of collective voices. Heâs seen how organized labor doesnât just fight for a paycheck; it fights for the dignity, safety, and stability that every employee deserves.
When we think of Wisconsinâs progressive legacy, we think of âFighting Bobâ La Follette. He was a man who took a stand when it wasnât popular, fighting for real, lasting change against the entrenched interests of his time. He knew that a country is only as strong as its people.
But today, âtaking a standâ looks a little different.
Markâs candidacy isnât about choosing sides between unions OR owners. Itâs about recognizing that the most prosperous eras in Wisconsinâs and our nationâs history happened when we worked in healthy collaboration.
⢠Itâs about unions AND owners sitting at the table to build a more resilient workforce.
⢠Itâs about labor AND business partnering together.
⢠Itâs about community AND industry ensuring that our workers are protected while our businesses are empowered to responsibly grow.
Like La Follette, Mark believes in fighting for whatâs right. And today, whatâs right is moving past the âus vs. themâ rhetoric to build a Wisconsin and country where everyone, from the shop floor to the front office, can thrive together.
Happy May Day to all the hardworking men and women who keep Wisconsin moving! đđď¸đď¸

Big news! This week, our campaign reached a major milestone: weâve officially crossed the 1,000 signatures needed to secure a spot on the August ballot.
This wasn't something we did alone. It happened because of the incredible hard work of dozens of volunteers across every single county. Whether you reached out to friends, sent emails, made calls, or met people at live events, your dedication is the reason we're here. We are so incredibly grateful for the energy you've poured into this.
While weâve hit the minimum, weâre going to keep collecting signatures to ensure we have a solid cushion for the official filing. Seeing the community come together like this has been a truly humbling experience.
A quick look at the progress across the district:
⢠Appleton/Fox Valley: Nearly 400 signatures.
⢠Green Bay: Over 300 signaturesâwith more than half gathered in just one day!
⢠Door County: 200+ signatures, with a huge showing from Sturgeon Bay and the entire peninsula.
⢠Shawano, Keshena, and Neopit: Over 100 signatures.
Thank you to everyone who has signed, shared, and stepped up. We are so honored to have you on this journey with us.

đŻ agree
The Public Service Commission made an important decision Friday that will protect our pocketbooks! It rejected WE Energies' proposal to make ratepayers cover much of the cost to build new infrastructure needed for data centers, and instead requires data centers to cover that cost.
We need state legislation that writes this into law so everyday people are protected from rising utility bills. Thanks to the Clean Economy Coalition of Wisconsin for their work on this!
