Have a process or procedure to your records. Have an organized method for your transactions whether that is through a handwritten summary, spreadsheet, or accounting software. Substantiate your receipts. Bank/Credit Card statements are not sufficient proof of expenses. Receipts have to be legible. Keep business separate from personal.
