🎶 𝗙𝗩𝗟 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽! 🦊

It was a day filled with music, creativity, teamwork, and fun as students came together for FVL Band Camp!

From creating sound effects for picture-book stories to instrument-section challenges and playing together as a full band, students had plenty of opportunities to learn, collaborate, and build relationships.

🎺 Students are also working on a piece they plan to perform at MusicFest!

We’re excited to welcome Mrs. Amy Balza to the FVL family for the 2026–2027 school year!

With 9 years of experience in education, Mrs. Balza brings a passion for helping students grow while encouraging them to use their God-given gifts. She and her family—husband Anton (Tony) and son Mack —are excited to become part of the FVL community!

A few fun facts about Mrs. Balza:

𝗙𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗕𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲: Exodus 14:14
"The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still."

𝗛𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁: She typically reads 100+ books each year and can recite all the lyrics to “We Didn’t Start the Fire” by Billy Joel! 🎶

𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁-𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Morning devotion, pictures with her son and family, and getting her “ducks in a row” for the year ahead.

𝗙𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀: Spending time with family, taking long walks with her dog, reading and knitting, family trips, connecting with friends, and organizing.

𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁?
"My cat ate part of a Ziploc bag and I couldn't get my work done because I had to take care of them." 🐱

For Mrs. Balza, teaching is an opportunity to encourage students, help them grow, and build meaningful connections. She is excited to serve at FVL and become part of a community where faith, learning, and relationships go hand in hand.

The FVL Girls Golf team competed in a conference meet yesterday at Irish Waters Golf Club in Freedom!

𝗩𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆:
🏌️‍♀️ FVL finished 4th of 5 teams with a team score of 227 (+83).

⭐ Freshman Grace Ebben led the Foxes with a 53 (+17), finishing 2nd of 25 golfers in her first-ever high school meet!

Grace Sauer, Lily Brooks, and Vivian Anderson each shot 58 (+22), while Hailey Schreiner carded a 61 (+25).

𝗝𝗩:
FVL finished 4th of 4 teams with a team score of 250 (+106).

The celebration continues! Join us Friday, August 21, during the FVL football game against the Kewaunee Storm as we recognize our 2026 WIAA Division 2 State Softball Champions!

After an incredible season that culminated in a WIAA D2 State Championship this past June, we want to give our Foxes the recognition they deserve! 🦊🏆
