Xavier Varsity Hawks Defeats Notre Dame Academy In Pitcher's Duel

Both teams were strong on the bump on Tuesday, but Xavier Varsity Hawks defeated Notre Dame Academy 2-0. Quinn Comerford started the game for Xavier Varsity Hawks and recorded 21 outs.

Comerford threw a complete game 2 hit shutout for the win while striking out six.

Xavier Varsity Hawks opened the scoring in the top of the fourth thanks to two singles. Xavier Varsity Hawks first got on the board when Gavin Wiese singled, scoring one run.

Drew Magnuson took the loss for Notre Dame Academy. The hurler went seven innings, giving up two runs on six hits, striking out six and walking one.

Kyler Bleck, Easton Stempa, Frankie Cavaiani, Carter Hermus, Wiese, and Titan Milhaupt each collected one hit for Xavier Varsity Hawks. Stempa and Wiese each drove in one run for Xavier Varsity Hawks. Xavier Varsity Hawks turned one double play in the game.

Xavier will play at Seymour in the Regional Final tomorrow at 4:30.

3 Pitchers Team Up As Xavier Varsity Hawks Shut Out Wrightstown Varsity Tigers

Xavier Varsity Hawks defeated Wrightstown Varsity Tigers 5-0 on Thursday as Kyler Bleck, Quinn Comerford, and Gavin Wiese each pitched for Xavier Varsity Hawks in the game.

Xavier Varsity Hawks got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Wiese singled to center field, Titan Milhaupt doubled to center field, Easton Stempa doubled down the left field line, and Carter Hermus doubled down the right field line, each scoring one run.

Bleck earned the win for Xavier Varsity Hawks. The pitcher allowed four hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out one. Wiese collected the save. Comerford pitched one inning of no-run ball for Xavier Varsity Hawks in relief.

Wiese provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Xavier Varsity Hawks with two runs batted in. The number three hitter went 2-for-2 on the day. Bleck and Wiese each collected two hits for Xavier Varsity Hawks. Xavier Varsity Hawks turned two double plays in the game. Xavier Varsity Hawks were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Stempa made the most plays with 10.

The Hawks will play again on Tuesday for the Regional semifinals.
