Pulled this out of the mud near the old sheriff boathouse. Looks like some kind of old school boat signal... maybe a Lifeguard device? It has a battery box and a flashing LED. Never seen anything like it. What do you think the story is behind this contraption?

Something massive just latched onto my magnet, and it wouldn't budge. Bubbles everywhere as it finally came up... but what IS this thing? It looks like gears at the top, and it's incredibly heavy. Seriously, what did I just pull out of the mud?

I swear, I never know what I'm going to pull out of the water next. This time... it's a piece of history. Imagine this being how people got their water generations ago.
