2 Minute Tuesday - Food Truck Night Update

Due to weather conditions we will be experiencing later today/early evening, we won't be hosting a Food Truck Night on Tuesday, August 18th.

We appreciate everyone's understanding and are already looking forward to our next event on Tuesday, September 15th from 4–7 PM!

Shop Talk Saturday - National Relaxation Day

Some people relax at the spa.

We relax when all the lifts are empty, nobody is calling, and nothing is making a weird noise.

…which usually lasts about 37 seconds.

FUN FACT FRIDAY -

Your car doesn't actually know it's Friday.

But we do, lol!

Here's something you probably didn't know about your vehicle:

-Your check engine light doesn't actually tell you what's wrong.

It basically says:

“Hey… something isn't right. Come check me out.”

It could be something simple like a loose gas cap, or something that needs a little more attention.

The light is the warning. The diagnosis tells us the story.

TRUE STORY THURSDAY -

Every shop has those repairs where you just stand there for a minute and say…
“Well… that’s new.”

A customer brought in his daughter’s Buick Enclave with a humming noise coming from the front. Driver’s side? Passenger side? Hard to tell.

We got it in the shop and found the culprit: both front wheel bearings needed to be replaced.

Customer approved the repair, so we got those taken care of.

But then came the part we weren't expecting…

While test driving the Enclave and making sure everything was good after the repair, we noticed a clicking noise coming from the engine area near the tire.

So we did some more investigating.

Turns out the harmonic balancer (aka the crankshaft pulley) had a defect in the rubber compound.

And here's where it gets weird…

In the dark, you could actually see a tiny spark coming from it when it was running. ⚡😳

Think about the static electricity you get from walking across s**g carpet and then touching someone…

“ZAP!”

Basically, this Buick decided it wanted to make its own little lightning show under the hood.

Needless to say, we weren't going to send it home like that.

One humming noise turned into two wheel bearings… and a bonus lightning show we definitely weren't expecting.

That's why we don't just fix the original complaint and send you down the road. We test, inspect, and make sure everything is actually right before you leave.
