Lace up, Sandy Slope! Girls on the Run is back and ready to rock!

Attention all Sandy Slope students—are you ready to activate your girl power? Registration is open for an amazing season of growth, friendship, and high-energy fun! Girls on the Run Northeast Wisconsin is coming back to Sandy Slope Elementary this fall.

This program teaches girls vital life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games while building unstoppable confidence and teamwork!

Here is what you need to know to join the fun:

Kickoff: Practices start September 15th for girls in grades 3rd-5th.
The Routine: We meet twice weekly to play, learn, and get active together.
The Big Goal: We finish the season with an epic, celebratory 5K event at the Ariens Nordic Center in Brillion on Saturday, November 7th!

⚾️🎉 MASCOT PARTY ALERT! 🎉⚾️

Hey, families! Our very own incredible mascot, Spark, is heading to the ballpark, Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, this Friday, August 21st from 5:40 pm-6:00 pm, to celebrate a very special occasion—Fang’s 31st Birthday Party! 🎂🎈

Spark will be joining Fang and a whole crew of mascot friends for a night packed with fun, laughs, and baseball. You won't want to miss a single minute of the action!

Here is the lineup of mascot madness you can expect:
Kickball Showdown (Pre-Game): Arrive early! Approximately one hour before the first pitch, Spark and the other mascots are facing off in an epic Mascot Kickball Game right on the field! 👟⚽️

On-Field Fun: Keep your eyes on the field between innings for special on-field promotions featuring Spark and the gang! 🤩

The Birthday Sing: During a designated inning, look up at the dugout tops! The mascots will be helping the entire stadium sing a massive "Happy Birthday" to Fang. 🎶🎂

7th Inning Stretch: Time to get up and move! While mascots can't speak, they sure can groove. 💃👕

Post-Game Fireworks & Base Running: Stick around after the game for a spectacular fireworks show! Afterward, all kids in attendance get to run the bases! 🎆🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Let’s show our school spirit and support Spark and Fang! Grab your tickets, wear your school colors, and we will see you at the ballpark this Friday! 🎟✨

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who was able to attend and crush our Family Fun Run on Sunday! Seeing all those happy, smiling faces cross the finish line absolutely made our evening. We truly have the best school family ever! 🧡💛🩵

MASSIVE shoutout to our amazing community for helping us raise $242 dollars for Make-A-Wish Wisconsin! Keep those pop tabs coming all year long, too! Every single tab helps us support Ronald McDonald House.

Our Meet & Greet will be held on Wednesday, August 26, from 4:00–5:30 p.m. This is a great opportunity to meet your students’ teacher(s), drop off school supplies, and take a photo at our Sandy Slope backdrop in the commons area. Please enter through Door A for this event. 👩🏼‍🏫👨🏽‍🏫

✨A Special Blast from the Past at Sandy Slope!

Today, Mr. Bernhardt had the absolute pleasure of meeting with a truly special Sandy Slope Alumni!

Mary Bruch attended 1st and 2nd grade during the final two years that the original Sandy Slope school building was open. She visited us today to share her wonderful insights and memories of what school life was like back then.

After taking a trip down memory lane, Mary and her family got to take a full tour of our beautiful new Sandy Slope building! It was amazing to connect our school's rich history with the incredible spaces our students learn in today.

Our mascot, Spark the Lightning Bug, met with Superintendent Hartjes today! They brainstormed bright ideas to make this school year an exciting one!

With August here, we are counting down the days until our pods are filled with your smiling faces. Spark is completely charged up and cannot wait to see you back at Sandy Slope.

🏃‍♂️ Ready, set, RUN, walk, skip, or hop... just move forward with us on Sunday, August 16th at Sandy Slope, Sandy Slope Families!

Join us for our FREE Family Fun Run! It is the perfect chance to meet other school families, learn about upcoming events, and chat with our Sandy Slope Elementary PTO.

Students can run solo around the Sandy Slope block or race together as a family. All ages and abilities are welcome!
