We have power!

Tomorrow open normal hours 11am-6pm. Thanks again to all the linemen and tree companies for working so hard. Sooooo much more work to be done. I feel guilty being excited, so many are weeks away from having power.

I can’t work in the dark, so it’s Fox Valley Fi****ms STORY TIME!

These 2 groups of people. There are many, many involved with the cleanup, but these 2 groups shine.

No 1) Firefighters

I rip on firefighters 🧯on occasion. Not mean heartedly, just a tease. Those that know me know what I am talking about. I will tease them about no oil dry to sweep, or no fire extinguishers to ticket today? I give a little heat about the easy life.

Yesterday, I won’t tease them for at least a few weeks. We lost power around 11:50, and by 12:15 it was bad. Black skies, horizontal rain, wind that was insane. I watched a baby stroller go down prospect at probably 60mph wheels still on the ground, but a city garbage can 4ft off the ground doing 50mph flying like an airplane. At that same time I could hear sirens, 2 fire trucks coming down prospect. I said to myself “I wouldn’t save my mom in this s**t, yet here comes AFD like it’s 65 and sunny”. Hats off to you! No teasing for a while. Hell, I might even drop off some smoked brisket soon.

No 2) Linemen

I don’t ever tease linemen. I hate electricity. I love to use it, just hate touching it. I am the type of guy that has to ask the fireman for help when I touch electricity.

Linemen touch electricity when it’s tangled, wet, cold, lightning , raining, and all sorts of stuff. I think they actually might be a few cards short of a full deck. Either way, hats off to them. I love using electricity, and without them leaving thier beds at random times of the night in the worst weather, where would we be?

So, let’s thank the firefighters and linemen for an outstanding job of being somewhat crazy. Your crazyness is appreciated, and allows me to do my things.

It might even be a few days.

Closing @ 4PM on Wednesday the 1st. My 95 year old grandpa is singing the National Anthem at the Brewer game in Milwaukee. Going to go watch him tear it up. Normal hours Thursday.

1) We are accepting deliveries

The picture is our new CNC machine arriving. We will be trying to arrange the shop to get this in the building. We will be back to normal hours on Saturday.
