They are a dedicated and professional group that proved their commitment to the safety of their community! They actively participated in classroom education, hands on trauma intervention practice, tourniquet races, and multiple high stress, high fidelity scenarios. Great job!
Also thanks to the members of the Freedom Fire Department, the

Another unfortunate tragedy but within it we should look for the heros.
Train and prepare for the worst.

Today is National Stop the Bleed day. Itβs a great opportunity to assess how prepared you are for when tragedy strikes.
Take a class, become an instructor, put together a kit and help to spread awareness!
One way that you can help is to push your organization to install public access stop the bleed kits. These kits become lifesaving resources for those that are trained in hemorrhage control so that they can apply point of injury care.
ResQ Environments can help you with training and acquiring equipment. We have access to North American Rescue products like individual kits, tourniquets, and STB cabinets. Let us know how we can help!!

In February, ResQ Environments sent medical supplies and instructors deep into the jungles of Peru to teach 36 local villagers emergency medical training. They were part of an evangelical mission trip to educate villagers who live far from the nearest large city (10-12 hour boat ride). Topics covered included tourniquets, pressure bandages, patient movement over short and long distances, and splinting. Some students traveled for 5 days to receive the training. 36 students completed the training and we were incredibly grateful for the opportunity to train them.
