Last week I talked about how your supplement routine should be unique to youâŠand I still stand by that. But there are a handful of supplements that I consider foundational because they support some of the bodyâs most basic and essential functions. Theyâre nutrients most of us really could use a little more of.
SoâŠI put together a Foundational Supplement Guide because I wanted to cover all of the important and practical pieces of choosing these supplements, from why they made the list to what to actually look for when youâre shopping.
Thereâs probably more information in there than you ever wanted to know đ but hopefully it makes choosing quality supplements feel less overwhelming.
You can grab the guide through the link in my bio. đ€
Expecting miracle-like results? Weâre gonna need to call on the only One who performs miracles. Spoiler alert, it surely is not me, but I know a guyâŠ..đ
In all seriousness, thereâs a reason care plans are recommended rather than promising a quick fix. Your body has an incredible God-given capacity to adapt, respond, and heal. My job is not to do the healing for you (I canât), but it is my job to support the process.
Healing doesnât happen only on the treatment table. An adjustment can help restore motion and support your nervous system, but your body still needs the resources to repair what weâre asking it to.
The cells that make up your skin, your hormones, muscles, brain, bones, and nervous system are built from the food you put into your mouth.
Protein becomes tissue. Healthy fats become hormones and brain cells. Minerals become bone and cellular messengers. Vitamins become the tiny helpers that keep thousands of processes running every single day.
Your body is constantly rebuilding, repairing, replacing, and adapting. But it cannot build something from nothing.
If we ask our bodies for energy, resilience, healing, focus, recovery, and hormone balance while running on coffee and convenience foods alone, weâre asking for a masterpiece with very few supplies.
The question isnât whether your body is trying to work for you or not. It isâŠ..always. The question should be, are we giving it what it needs to succeed? If youâre curious about what your body might be asking for, nutritional counseling can help you get clarity on where to start.

And heavy on that last one. Kinda chic, if you ask međ«¶đŒ

If I had a penny for every time someone asked me, âIs it bad if I crack my own neck?â...Iâd have lots of penniesđ
The concern isnât the sound. You might notice the same âpopâ in your neck just turning your head to look in your blind spot. The popping sound isnât inherently dangerous on its own.
It becomes a concern when you repeatedly use force to self-manipulate with your hands because you can start increase irritation over time and create a cycle where your body becomes more aware of that area and feels the need to âcrackâ it more often.
That relief usually is temporary, as it doesnât address whatâs actually creating the tension youâre trying to relieve in the first place (hence why youâre reaching to do it again 10 minutes later). If you find yourself feeling like you âneedâ to crack your neck often, that can be a sign worth evaluating!

If youâre a woman, you know the experience. You probably remember what it was like getting your first period in school. The anxiety of it happening unexpectedly and worrying about whether or not you had what you needed to manage it without anyone else noticing. Now imagine that being your reality month after month because you donât have reliable access to period products. For some young women here in our Fox Valley community, that is their reality.
The Monthlies Project is working to change that by providing access to menstrual health products to school-aged girls. Access to basic hygiene products should never be a barrier to learning, participation, or simply feeling comfortable in your own body.
Weâre collecting the following donation items at the office now through 08/07 to help support girls in our community as they head into the new school year:
- tampons
- pads of various absorbency
- panty liners
- period underwear
- black leggings
As a thank you for your support you will receive a complimentary adjustment, offer open to both new and existing patients. (Limit one per person. Offer not valid for Medicare or Medicaid beneficiaries.)
If youâd like to make a monetary donation, we gladly accept those as well. And if youâre not interested in treatment, but would like to contribute, youâre still welcome to donate. We can coordinate a convenient drop-off or pick-up time. Every contribution is so greatly appreciatedđ©”
Itâs Monday. If youâve been at your desk, staring at a screen for far too long, itâs time to move.
Try these 3 simple stretches you can do right from your chair for a quick movement snack. It only takes a few minutes, and youâre going to feel a little better after. đđŒ
As always, these movements should feel gentle. If they increase your pain, stop!đ Donât continue. If youâre dealing with persistent neck pain, check in with your local Appleton chiropractor. This is for general educational purposes only and is not a substitute for medical advice.
Save this for your next workday and pass it on to your desk buddy!
