My Housing Voice, a project of KeysWI, is focused on the housing choices and preferences of adults with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities (A/I/DD) in Northeast Wisconsin.

Did you know?

Across Wisconsin, thousands of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities face limited housing options, long waitlists, and uncertain futures as family caregivers age.

While every statistic represents a real person, these numbers help illustrate why housing continues to be one of the most important issues facing individuals with I/DD and their families.

As part of the My Housing Voice project, we're working to better understand the housing needs, challenges, and opportunities facing adults with autism and intellectual/developmental disabilities throughout Northeast Wisconsin.

Over the coming months, we'll continue sharing data, insights, and information that will help shape our upcoming regional housing market analysis.

Stay tuned as we explore what these numbers mean for our communities and the people behind them.

What's Next for My Housing Voice?

Over the past several months, individuals, families, caregivers, self-advocates, and community partners across Northeast Wisconsin have helped shape the My Housing Voice project through surveys, community discussions, educational sessions, and outreach events.

Now we're diving into the data.

Our team is analyzing everything we've learned to better understand the housing needs, challenges, and opportunities facing adults with autism and intellectual/developmental disabilities (A/I/DD) in our region.

The result will be a comprehensive regional housing market analysis, coming later this year.

Thank you for being part of this important work. We can't wait to share what we've learned.

Stay tuned for project updates and early insights in the weeks ahead!

Housing solutions start with listening.

Before we could understand the housing needs of adults with autism and intellectual/developmental disabilities (A/I/DD), we needed to hear directly from the people most affected.

Over the past several months, the My Housing Voice team worked to connect with individuals, families, caregivers, self-advocates, and community members across Northeast Wisconsin through:

🏠 Outreach to more than 100 organizations
💻 Virtual learning opportunities and discussions
👥 Community watch parties and local engagement events

Our goal was simple: make participation accessible, reduce barriers, and ensure as many voices as possible had the opportunity to be heard.

Thank you to every organization, community leader, family member, and self-advocate who helped spread the word and strengthen this effort.

Together, we're building a clearer picture of housing needs across our region.

For many adults with autism and intellectual/developmental disabilities (A/I/DD), finding housing that is affordable, supportive, and aligned with their needs can be a significant challenge.

That's why My Housing Voice was created.

Through community input, local data collection, and collaboration with community leaders, we're working to better understand the housing needs of adults with A/I/DD across Northeast Wisconsin and identify opportunities for meaningful change.

Our goal is simple: create more supportive housing models and foster inclusive neighborhoods where people can thrive.

Thank you to everyone who has shared their voice and helped move this work forward. Stay tuned as we begin sharing what we've learned and what's next for the project.

Thank you to the local leaders who joined us last week to learn more about the My Housing Voice Housing Market Analysis project.

We were excited to share an early look at what we've learned from the hundreds of individuals, families, caregivers, and community members who participated in this project.

The discussion was thoughtful, engaging, and encouraging. It reminded us that there is a strong commitment across Northeast Wisconsin to improving housing opportunities and outcomes for adults with autism and intellectual/developmental disabilities.

While our final housing market analysis is still in development, this workshop marked an important step toward turning community voices into meaningful action.

We're grateful for the leaders and organizations that are helping move this conversation forward, and we look forward to sharing the full report later this year.
