We are honored to announce being a recipient for the 2026 Chrysalis Design Award for this multi-purpose mudroom and laundry space at our Bent Pine project, a space most homes treat as an afterthought.

This project started as a pantry, back entry, mudroom, and laundry room all crammed into one. We used custom built-ins to hide the daily clutter, one cohesive color palette, and a hidden pocket gate to keep the dogs in. We even tucked a wet bar into the back entry. We started by rethinking the shape and proportions. We wanted to move away from the dated, boxy look toward something sleek and modern that could act as a focal point for the whole living space. We used wood paneling with clean lines to create an architectural feature that reads as a design statement, not just a heat source.

Redoing a mantel and fireplace is one of the most common requests we get. It's one of our favorite transformations to see because it can really impact the feel of the whole room. Swipe to see the process from concept to installation!

It's the details that make a room feel finished. In this project, we layered custom ornate trim, wallpaper for pops of color and pattern, and curated shelf styling to bring every space together.

We built this color palette layer by layer. Navy in the dining room, teal in the hallways, burnt orange in the office. Each space has a distinct personality, and with the sightlines between rooms, you can see the contrast without it feeling too loud. The whole home is connected by soft curves, and an elevated, serene feel, allowing the eye to move easily between spaces.
