Good news for Urban Agriculture in Maryland – HB359 has passed the Maryland House of Delegates!

This important legislation modernizes tax credits for urban farmers by removing outdated size restrictions and broadens the definition of "urban agriculture" to include everything from beekeeping, composting, indoor crops, agritourism, and more.

Maryland Farm Bureau is proud to stand with our urban growers for their important work to strengthen local food systems and communities. A big thank you to Delegate Kent Roberson for introducing this bill.

Grateful to Chair Eric Ebersole and members of the House Ways and Means K-12 Education Subcommittee for your favorable with amendments report this afternoon on HB486 - "Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day." We are excited to get this legislation to the full House of Delegates - where it passed with 130 votes last session - and on the Senate.

On Wednesday, July 30th, I will be partnering with Prince George's County Council Chairman Ed Burroughs and Councilwoman Krystal Oriadha to host a Veterans Resource Fair at American Legion Post 248 in Temple Hills.

Please invite all the veterans you know so that we can help connect them to career opportunities, mental health resources, and organizations in our community that can help them file benefit claims and navigate other challenges.
