My lovely wife, received a text message, to a link which led to this site.

At first glance, this looks legit. However, this is a phishing site, specialty designed for mobile devices to get personal and/or credit card information which could be used for identity theft.

Ordering online is easy and having a number of packages in transit from various carriers can be confusing at times. Scam artists are hoping to take advantage to anyone who doesn't do their due diligence.

Couple ways to determine the validity of this website:
1. Check the domain name. Here, (pack-usps.shop) is no domain owned by the postal service (usps.com).
2. Take the provided Tracking # and go to an actual USPS site and get the status.

Sometimes people need an upgrade in hardware to keep up with the ever changing demands from their software.

In this case, a client purchased a graphics card (GPU) and wanted us to install it.

When it was brought to me, I noticed a couple things. First, the new GPU (top card) wasn't packaged in a anti-static bag. This will keep the item from being damaged by a static discharge. Second, unlike the original GPU (bottom card), it didn't have the silver X-mount which keeps the GPU off the base of the laptop, once again to protect from electrostatic discharge.

Sure enough, the card did not work. Luckily the client was able to return the GPU, purchase another one that checked off my issues above and worked immediately.

Recently had a customer bring their laptop in with a shattered LCD screen. Did some research and found the cost for the repair to be just shy of a new laptop of the same model.

We shared that information with the client. We did not do the repair, we did not charge our diagnostics fee.

We returned the device, provided a link for the client to purchase a new one, and offered our services to help with any data transfer.
