πΎπFarm Week is off to a wonderful start at Miss Roxyβs Summer Day Camp! ππ±
Our preschoolers and toddlers enjoyed reading The Pie That Molly Grew and learning about how food grows from a tiny seed into something delicious we can eat. The children loved talking about fruits, vegetables, gardens, and all the hard work that goes into making a pie!
We were also excited to welcome Holman Colleen from the Indiana Farm Bureau again this year! She shared fun, hands-on lessons about farming and helped our little learners discover where their food comes from. Her visit was the perfect way to continue our Farm Week adventures!
One of the highlights of the day was learning all about bees and the important job they do helping plants grow. The kiddos were fascinated to discover how bees make honey and why they are so important to farms and gardens. They even got to taste real flavored honey, which was a sweet treat and a big hit with our little learners! π―π
This week at camp, we'll be exploring all things farm-related through stories, crafts, sensory activities, songs, and play. We can't wait to learn more about farm animals, crops, tractors, and the important role farmers play in our everyday lives.
A big thank you to Colleen for helping make our Farm Week so special for our campers! πΎβ€οΈπ·

A huge THANK YOU to Holman Colleen from the Indiana Farm Bureau for joining us once again for Summer Day Camp during Farm Week! We are so grateful that this was her fifth year in a row sharing her time, knowledge, and passion with our daycare children.
Our kiddos had an absolute blast learning about farming and agriculture through the fun, hands-on activities she brought. Colleen's patience, kindness, and enthusiasm with our toddlers and preschoolers never go unnoticed, and we truly appreciate the care she puts into making every visit special.
We would also like to congratulate Colleen on being named Volunteer of the Year! This honor comes as no surprise to us. Her dedication to educating and inspiring young children is remarkable, and we are so thankful for everything she does for our program and community.
Thank you, Colleen, for another amazing Farm Week! We can't wait to see you again next year! πΎππβ€οΈ
