We just wanted to take a minute to say thank you.

Last night was the first Elemento Night Market of the season, and while we ended up with fewer vendors than originally planned, we couldn't be happier with how the night turned out.

Thank you to everyone who came downtown, shopped with our vendors, visited local businesses, and spent part of your Friday night with us. Seeing people walking around downtown, meeting friends, and exploring our shops is exactly what we hoped for.

Broomsticks and Brews had an amazing day too. You all absolutely destroyed our supply of cherry syrup with Bomb Pops, so we'll be placing an order for more right away. We love seeing people get excited about the crazy drink ideas we come up with.

We're also thankful for the support of Angola Main Street and everyone involved with Food Truck Fridays. Events like these bring people downtown, create energy, and help showcase the great small businesses we have here.

One of my favorite parts of the night was talking with people who are in town for the summer or visiting for the first time and hearing how excited they were to check out our downtown. As someone who has watched downtown Angola grow over the years, that never gets old.

Thank you for showing up, shopping small, and supporting what we're trying to build here.

We're already looking forward to the next one.

We received a letter today.

The person wrote about the pride flag outside Elemento. About how they never expected to see one downtown. They shared their story, their journey and the fact that they were glad we were here. The letter reminded us why visibility matters so much, especially in small communities like ours.

People often underestimate what it means to simply be seen. And how much a flag in a window, a welcoming smile or a place where you don’t have to explain yourself or shrink yourself down to fit in can affect someone. Sometimes those things become lifelines for people carrying stories you know nothing about.

Ironically, today was actually the day we took our flag down while we wait for a new one to arrive. It was looking rough, the flag had taken a beating from the wind and weather. That in itself is symbolic, even tattered and torn it still made people feel welcome. But after reading that letter, it felt strange seeing that space empty. It was a reminder to us that symbols matter.

And that spaces like ours matter too.

Not because we think we’re changing the world, but because everyone deserves at least one place where they can breathe easier. One place where they feel safe existing exactly as they are. No performance. No fear. No pretending.

Angola has changed so much over the years. We’ve watched this town grow, evolve, and slowly become more open, creative, and accepting. There’s still work to do, but seeing more people willing to show up authentically, support each other, and create community gives us a lot of hope for where this town is headed.

Growing up, we didn’t have spaces like this. A lot of people still don’t. So when those new flags go back up outside our old building downtown, they’ll go back up with even more meaning behind them.

Elemento has always been about more than what we sell. It’s about creating energy that feels welcoming, healing, accepting, magical, creative, and human all at once.

Thank you to everyone who supports that vision and helps us keep these spaces alive. Visibility matters. Safe spaces matter. Community matters. And sometimes the smallest things end up reaching people in the biggest ways.

We finally restocked our intention candles at Elemento and honestly… the shop smells absolutely magical right now.

These candles have quickly become one of our favorite things in the store because each one is created with a purpose behind it. Whether you’re needing Protection, Healing, Prosperity, House Blessing, Road Opener, Sweet Dreams, Ancestor, or even a little Love Potion energy in your life, we’ve been working on bringing more intention and meaning into every candle we place on our shelves.

As Elemento continues to evolve, so will the energy of the shop itself. We’ve been slowly adding more intentionally crafted items, spiritual tools, ritual pieces, and products that feel connected to comfort, growth, healing, and everyday magic. We want this space to feel like somewhere you can walk into, breathe a little deeper, and maybe leave feeling just a little lighter than when you came in.

Thank you all for continuing to grow with us, support us, and believe in the strange little dream we keep building inside these walls. The magic here exists because of this community just as much as it does because of us.

Blessed be!

The moon has spoken and our Moon Jar Macramé Class winners have officially been chosen

Congratulations to our three magical winners. We’ve contacted all three winners and cannot wait to welcome them into the shop for a cozy afternoon of creativity, knots, moonlight vibes, and a little bit of magic.

Thank you to everyone who entered and continues to support what we do here at Elemento and Broomsticks and Brews. Watching this community show up for art, classes, and connection is the kind of thing that keeps our little downtown spellbook glowing.

Keep an eye out because more classes, workshops, and magical gatherings are on the way.

Not every mother wears a crown.
Some wear exhaustion.
Some wear strength so quietly you almost miss it.
Some built entire worlds for the people they love while carrying storms no one else could see.

Today is for the moms who made magic out of almost nothing. 🌙✨

The ones who turned struggle into softness.
Who kept showing up.
Who became safe places.
Who loved loudly, protected fiercely, and somehow still found a way to keep the light on for everyone else.

To the grandmothers, chosen moms, stepmoms, aunties, dads doing both roles, and every soul who became “home” for someone else… we see you today too.

From all of us at Broomsticks and Brews Elemento Golden Green Soap Co.
Happy Mother’s Day.

May today feel a little softer.
May your cup stay full for once.
And may the universe return even a fraction of the love you’ve poured into everyone else.

📚✨ A little update from me…

I want to sincerely apologize — I’ve decided to postpone our Books That Find You reveal gathering.

This experience has been more meaningful (and honestly, a bit heavier in the best way) than I expected. I’ve found myself needing more time to sit with the story, reflect, and really process it fully before we come together to share.

I originally hoped to only push it back a week, but with Mother’s Day the following weekend, it didn’t feel fair to ask everyone to shift things around twice.

So we’ll now gather on:
📅 Sunday, May 17th
⏰ 1–3 PM
📍 Elemento

Thank you for your patience, your understanding, and for being part of something so thoughtful and intentional. This “book bond” has already been such a beautiful experience, and I want to honor that by giving it the time it deserves.

I can’t wait to sit together, share our stories, and see how each book found its way to us. 💛
