A little about this style song:

The basic bones of the song is about losing your parents or grandparents and how that loss feels when you realize you are alone or orphaned or entering the next stage of life as an older and ultimately aging adult following the footsteps of time....

As all weepy country songs go, they are subject to interpretation in many ways and I absolutely welcome those interpretations.

Our family has been vacationing in South Haven, Michigan for several years now. So this has references to that, the state of Maine where I am from, Maui where I love to vacation, etc
My spouse Angelique has a favorite drink that is spiced rum, diet soda and no lime. She does not like Lime in drinks. LOL
She also isn't a fan of Florida.
