We started mid February with our Peppers and Tomatoes. As soon as we could get a thaw on the compost we started our seed trays.
In the beginning we bought plant starts. Good Idea you say? I say yes because they will produce more than they cost, plus fresh always taste far better.
What makes more sense? Buy a package of seeds and sow them yourself. Anybody can do it. Don't tell yourself otherwise. Perfect is not the goal learning and growing is. So we did that. So now a whole flat of plant starts cost 4 dollars ish. So literally 25 cents a plant. That is an even better deal.
So now what is even better than that? What if you saved the seeds from what you grew instead of throwing them away. Seed prices have went way up but if you save what already grew that doesn't matter, so now the whole flat of tomatoes or peppers is almost free. Plus plant saved seeds are more acclimated to your local environment which means each generation will do a lot better.
These are the leftover plants that I gave to a friend.Thats a win win.

Today I want to show you a game changer. Jack Spirko was talking about mycorrhizae fungal inoculants. Was is that you ask? Short story... root enhancer. When you do this you are introducing fungal spores which creates a whole communication system in the soil itself. The result is incredible. I begun with seed and put Myco in each hole. When I pot up, I powder the root ball with myco. When I set the plant into the ground I inoculate the root ball again. The result is strong healthy plants! You too can step up your game. There are many different brands and strengths all will work just fine. Yea you can get it on Amazon.

Last year on my way into work I saw what looked like Asparagus growing along 600west. So I stopped to get a closer look this morning. It is a massive plant! Foraging at its best.
