🦷MEET OUR STAFF🦷
This week for series we are spotlighting one of our Dental Assistants, Chelsea Reeder
Chelsea started working for our office in 2014 helping out in the front office. She slowly transitioned into being a sterilization tech and helping out on the Doctor's side during school breaks in high school and in College. After college, she became one of our part-time Dental Assistants.
Chelsea graduated from Anderson Union High School in 2017. Straight from high school she went to Oregon Institute of Technology and got her Bachelor's Degree in Biology-Health Sciences in 2021.
She aspires to go to Dental school and to hopefully come into practice with Dr. Reeder someday.
During her free time, she takes care of her 1 year old boy. She loves spending time with her family, hiking, going to the lake. Chelsea also enjoys coaching high school volleyball.
Chelsea says the best part about working for Dr. Reeder is that she not only has a boss, but an amazing mentor that has helped guide her on the path she is aspiring to go. She also loves the work atmosphere and that it is enjoyable to work around all the lovely staff at our office.

🦷 Dental Tip of the Month 🦷
Dealing with sensitivity in your teeth?
If you have had a recent cleaning and or exam with your dental provider and you have no treatment necessary, you may have hypersensitivity due to root exposure. Often this is not concerning and may be alleviated by products such as sensitive toothpaste or calcium supplements for the teeth that may be provided to you at your dentists' office.
Contact your dental provider for details.
NOTE: Whitening agents such as toothpaste, gels, or OTC products will make sensitivity much worse. If you utilize these products and have extreme sensitivity, discontinue use and talk to your dental provider.

🦷Clinical Technique of the month 🦷
Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique (SMART)
Have you ever had concerns about having old amalgam fillings removed? While current protocols do not require this technique for removal of amalgam fillings, there is still Mercury exposure during removal of these fillings. For some individuals this exposure is more concerning than for others.
Talk to your dental provider to see if the SMART technique for amalgam removal is appropriate for you or find a dental provider in your area that provides this technique.
