**MONDAY FLOOD RECOVERY UPDATE**

More than six weeks after the August flooding, recovery continues across Madison County, and the resources people need are changing too.

We've updated our Madison County Flood Relief & Recovery Resources page with information to help residents navigate the next stages of recovery, including:

• Rebuilding & Long-Term Recovery – resources for rebuilding safer, mold cleanup, flood insurance, FEMA housing and repair assistance, and avoiding disaster-related scams.

• Emotional & Mental Health Support – disaster-specific support for individuals and families dealing with the emotional impact of the flooding and recovery process.

• FEMA Assistance – Madison County residents with eligible disaster-related losses can still apply for FEMA Individual Assistance. The application deadline is October 25.

The page also continues to include information about State Disaster Relief Fund assistance, temporary housing, SBA disaster loans, Disaster Unemployment Assistance, legal assistance, food and basic needs, Flood Aid for Anderson and other ongoing recovery resources.

As our community moves from immediate response into longer-term recovery, we'll continue updating this page with current information and resources.

FLOOD RECOVERY CONTINUES

As our community moves further into long-term recovery from the August flooding, we know the needs have changed, but they have not disappeared.

MCCF continues to regularly update our Madison County Flood Relief & Recovery Resources page as new information and assistance become available. A few important updates:

NEW: Emotional & Mental Health Support
Recovery isn't only about repairing homes and replacing belongings. The emotional impact of a disaster can continue long after the water is gone. We've added disaster-specific emotional and mental health resources, including 24/7 support, Indiana's Disaster Behavioral Health program and connections to local services through Indiana 211.

Automatic SNAP Replacement Benefits
Some SNAP households in designated Madison County ZIP codes will automatically receive replacement benefits on or around September 26. Qualifying households do not need to submit an additional application or paperwork for these automatic benefits.

Flood Aid for Anderson – Phase Two is Open
Flood Aid for Anderson continues to provide direct assistance to those impacted by the flooding. Phase Two is open to businesses as well as eligible households within the documented flood-impacted area.

FLOOD RECOVERY CONTINUES

More than a month has passed since the August flooding, and our community has moved from immediate response into long-term recovery. The needs have changed, but resources and assistance continue to be available.

MCCF continues to regularly update our Madison County Flood Relief & Recovery Resources page as new information becomes available. Our goal is for this page to remain a reliable resource for individuals, families and businesses as they navigate the recovery process.

NEW & IMPORTANT FOR LOCAL BUSINESSES:

Flood Aid for Anderson is now open to businesses.
Businesses located within verified flood-impacted areas may now apply for immediate assistance. Households in eligible flood-impacted areas that have not yet received assistance through Flood Aid for Anderson may also still apply.

A new SBA Business Recovery Center is now open in Anderson.
The U.S. Small Business Administration has opened a local center at the Flagship Enterprise Center, 2701 Enterprise Drive, where representatives can provide in-person help with disaster loan questions and applications.

The center is open Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. While it is called a Business Recovery Center, assistance is available to businesses, private nonprofits, homeowners and renters affected by the flooding.

Our resource page also continues to include information about FEMA Individual Assistance, State Disaster Relief Fund assistance, City of Anderson assistance, temporary housing, cleanup and home recovery, unemployment assistance, legal help, food and basic needs, volunteer opportunities and more.

FLOOD AID FOR ANDERSON - PHASE TWO NOW OPEN - BUSINESSES MAY APPLY

Over $43,000 in Flood Aid assistance has now been distributed to eligible Anderson households impacted by the August flooding.
We know there are many more households in verified flood-impacted areas that have not yet applied, and we want to make sure this assistance reaches as many eligible neighbors as possible.

If your primary residence was in a verified flood-impacted area and you have not already received assistance from Flood Aid for Anderson, please apply. And please help us spread the word to neighbors, friends and family members who may qualify.

Phase Two is now open, which means eligible Anderson businesses may also apply. Businesses must be located within a verified flood-impacted area.

NEW FUND | Red, White, & Blue Star Veteran Fund

The Red, White, & Blue Star Veteran Fund is a Field of Interest Fund established to support programs and services benefiting veterans and military families throughout Madison County. Grantmaking from the fund may support organizations and initiatives that address the needs of veterans and their families, including Gold Star and Red Star families, while honoring the service and sacrifice of those who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Through this fund, donors can provide ongoing support for the well-being of Madison County’s veteran and military community.
