Photos from City and Borough of Wrangell's post 02/23/2026

Chris originally worked with Wrangell in 2009, developing their downtown waterfront master plan and exploring opportunities for economic diversification. Many years later, we continue to work with the City and Borough of Wrangell on these projects. Last week, Corvus Design and Wrangell staff hosted a 'Community Conversation' Town Hall meeting to discuss three critical infrastructure projects: the downtown waterfront expansion, the deep-water port, and the water flume improvements. Over 100 people attended in person, and another 40 attended remotely, for a meeting that included sharing master plans, discussing economic opportunities, hosting panel discussions on private/public partnerships, and community conversations to gather feedback and garner community support. Many thanks to the City staff, Meilani with Rain Coast Data, and others who made this event such a success.

Jims' Landing Boat Launch ✨Upgraded✨ 11/25/2025

We assisted PND Engineers with this full redevelopment/expansion of the Jims' Landing Boat Launch. This is a great video that ADF&G produced that includes the design process and the success of the outcomes. It's also great to hear a user say, "It's 1000 times better!"

We assisted GHD (previously RIM Architects) with the renewal of this visitor facility in Nome. Nice to see it open and running!

Big things have been happening at Bering Land Bridge! Though we’ve been a little quiet about it (it’s been a very busy two and a half years 😅) you may have seen some of the signs….and now if you’re in Nome you can quite literally see one of the signs! 🤩 It’s a big one, complemented by an outdoor exhibit and beautifully designed animal silhouettes, all ready to invite you in to the newly renovated and newly named Bering Land Bridge Heritage Center! Opening this Saturday, September 6, we can’t wait to welcome you in and share more! Quyanna! Thank you! 💚

The Bering Land Bridge Heritage Center is located in the Sitnasuak Building on Front Street in Nome, AK. We will be open for special hours on Saturday, September 6 from 9am-5pm. Regular Fall hours are Monday - Friday from 10am-4pm. For questions or more information, please call 907-759-8020 or email Katie Cullen at [email protected]. We look forward to seeing you!

We attended the opening of the Pioneer Park playground on Friday. Wow. There's not much else to say but, look at the photos. Kudos to Fairbanks North Star Borough Pioneer Park, Fairbanks North Star Borough Parks & Rec, Trost Construction, Design Alaska, Inc., ExerPlay, Inc., Landscape Structures Inc. and anyone else involved in helping to make this happen. We're so happy to have been included forthe development of the conceptual playground and site design for this.

We're proud of our work with the Anchorage School District. A unique part of this project is that the planting plan for the site includes a large variety of trees, creating a site as a mini-arboretum. We like the idea of how the variety of leaves in the fall might fuel some great arts and crafts opportunities for the kids.

We finally made it down to Chugachmiut Health Clinic to take photos. We've shared the screen panels previously, and it's lovely to see them in the wild now. This project was with Architects Alaska and Roger Hickel Contracting, with Lucas Elliott Art assisting us with the art for the panels, and TriJet Manufacturing & Precision Cutting being the fabricator of the panels. Thank you to Chugachmiut for the opportunity for us and our team to work with them on this project.
