Sometimes, something good can come from a bad situation.

Secon had the unique opportunity to assist the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service with the destruction of fraudulent stone carvings that had been misrepresented as authentic Alaska Native art. The carvings were crushed at AggPro in Juneau, and the material is now finding a new purpose as structural fill for a Marine Park under construction in downtown Juneau.

The park will also include informational plaques aimed at educating visitors about authentic Alaska Native art and raising awareness of fraudulent artwork.

For the third year in a row, our team participated in the Great Interior Pumpkin Drop! 🎃🍂

With the event happening right next to our facility, it was a great opportunity to connect with our community, share the Be Safe, Be Seen message, and teach kids and adults a little more about modified asphalt oil.

Fat Bear Week is here! 🐻 In Alaska, we don't just follow the competition, we occasionally see contestants wandering past our jobsites. Fortunately, our teams are prepared for wildlife encounters and committed to keeping both people and bears safe while building the communities we call home.

We've got a vested interest in safety! 🦺

As the days get shorter and darker, stop by the Public Safety Building in Haines to pick up some free safety goodies and help stay safe this season.

A big thank you to the Haines Volunteer Fire Department for hosting our free community safety vest box at the Public Safety Building.
