Tangi Library

Join us for a spooky fun and engaging homeschool meetup designed for children ages 6-12 on Wednesday, Oct. 21 from 11:00 am to noon in our Amite Branch! Each month will feature a spooky hands-on STEM activity and a creative art project that encourage curiosity, problem-solving, creativity, and exploration. It's a great opportunity for homeschool families to learn, create and connect with others in a welcoming library setting.

Author Talk Series Returns to Amite! Mark your calendars for November 14, 2026, at 1:30 PM and join us upstairs at the Amite Branch for a special Author Talk featuring local author Donald Smith.

Hear the story behind the author, enjoy an engaging discussion, and get your books signed. Events like these help shine a spotlight on the talented writers in our own community.

Come support local literature and spend an afternoon with fellow book lovers!

Ready to dive into your manuscripts? The creative writer group was created to form a safe space for growing, sharing, and developing our written work. Join us for our next meeting Oct 23, 2026 4PM in the Ponchatoula Branch.

Come join us for Toddle & Tea in our Amite Branch on Monday, Oct. 19 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am! Little ones can make new friends through play, exploration, and hands-on activities while grown-ups relax, chat, and connect with other families. This playdate gives both children and adults the opportunity to build friendships, foster connections, and enjoy time together. Refreshments provided.

The Amite Library Chess Club's final October session will be on Tuesday, October 13 from 3:30-5:30 pm. We will return to our regular schedule in November. Chess players of all ages and skill levels are welcome and encouraged to attend!
