Finding Gospel Hope In God’s Word With God’s Family
Stonebrook Community Church is a Christian community that has grown since 1972 from a small, campus Bible fellowship into a thriving, multi-generational congregation. We believe that God calls us to extend his love and the hope of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the people in the Ames area, to the students of Iowa State University, and to the world. We strive to perpetuate our church's legacy for God's glory by planting new churches as He enables and leads us. Stonebrook is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) and the Baptist Convention of Iowa (BCI).

God says, I'll pay the price for you.
Justice for our sins still has to be met. Someone still has to carry the weight of our wrongdoings. In the gospel, God doesn't lower the bar; He sends His Son to carry the perfection and punishment that we can't.
Sit with that for a second. 🤍
Watch the full sermon by our Pastor Brad Barrett on Romans 3:21-31 at the link in our bio. Want to get connected? DM us, and we'd love to talk!

🎶 Worship In The Round – October 17th 🎶
🗓️ Saturday, October 17th
🕑 2:00–4:00 PM
📍 Stonebrook Church
Come join us for a relaxed, come-and-go musical worship jam session. No matter your instrument or skill level, you are welcome here! This is oriented around connection and sharing our gifts, not performance. Even if you don’t play an instrument or don’t feel comfortable playing in front of others, you’re welcome to just come and hang out! This is an open-invite, low-key event to connect with others through music.
We will have a couple backline amps, drums, and piano available for use. Everything else is “bring your own”. (Does not have to be a contemporary worship instrument).
Here is the playlist (https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2gftksHIbEaEbcjAWyApR0?si=PTSIIKrgSIyNeXzFw0myVQ&utm_source=copy-link&pi=i_0TpR-rRfSgv) and
chord charts (https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1T2or49EzA45ia_5YkSgYcIRWEzg3yNsO) for the songs we will be playing together. We will have printed copies available, but you are also welcome to print them off yourself as well.
No one can defend themselves before God. His law silences every excuse we make. Whether we have the written Word or God's law written on our hearts, we all stand accountable. The good news? There's a way to be declared righteous—and it's not by our works.
Join us this Sunday, October 4, at either 8:45 or 10:30am for worship, fellowship, and to hear from God's Word.

Why do almost all religions and governments share similar moral codes? Because there's one God, and His law is written on every human heart. You already know what's right; you just have to listen.

💛 This week, we're pausing to celebrate two incredible women who have poured so much into our Stonebrook family.
Hannah 🎨 — Hannah served faithfully with our Campus Fellowship, discipling college girls, and used her creative gifts on our Communications Team to make beautiful graphic design come to life. Her position ended this summer, and while we miss her artistry and her humor, what we'll miss most is her deep passion for Jesus and the gospel. Thank you, Hannah!
Allison 👶💍 — For several years, Allison has served as our Children's Ministry Director, working tirelessly to take that ministry to the next level for our families and kids. This October, Allison will be getting married and moving to Boone, where she'll join her fiancé's home church. We are SO excited for this next chapter and will miss her so much here at Stonebrook!
Please join us in thanking Hannah and Allison for their years of faithful service. We love you both! 💛
