🐾 Behind the Leash: Meet Ashley

If you've ever adopted a pet from Rebel, there's a good chance you've met Ashley.

Ashley first got involved in rescue as a foster. She quickly became a volunteer, and before long we were working together full-time at another local rescue.

When that organization had to make cuts, Ashley was laid off.

But here's the thing...

She kept showing up anyway.

Every single day.

The same schedule. The same dedication. The same heart.

Not because anyone asked her to.

Because the animals still needed her.

When Rebel was finally able to bring her on three days a week, it felt like we were bringing home family.

Today, Ashley oversees our adoption program, coordinates our weekly Petco adoption events, and runs the rescue on the days I'm off so I can actually take a break. (Which, if you know me, isn't always easy. 😂)

She does a little bit of everything, but if you ask me what Ashley is truly known for...

She's our cat whisperer.

While I happily hand her every spicy cat that comes through the door 😅, Ashley somehow has a way of earning their trust. She has a special place in her heart for kittens, especially the tiny, fragile ones who need around-the-clock care. She pours herself into learning everything she can to give them the best chance at survival.

And when they don't make it...

She loves them just as fiercely until the very end.

Not everyone could do that.

Ashley can.

Because for her, every life matters, no matter how small.

Rebel wouldn't be the same without her organization, compassion, patience, and willingness to step in wherever she's needed.

She's the kind of person every rescue hopes to find—and we're incredibly lucky she's ours. 🖤

Every Friday, we hit reset and start working toward funding the programs that keep Rebel Animal Rescue moving.

Each week, our goal is to raise $750 for our Transport Program and $750 for our Adoption Program. As donations come in throughout the week, we'll update this report so you can see our progress in real time.

Every dollar helps provide transportation to safety, veterinary care, supplies, and the resources needed to help animals find loving homes.

No gift is too small, and every share helps us reach more people who care.

This month, Bake a Wish- Cakes by Andrea is bringing us American Trilogy — a high-proof tribute to the classic Neapolitan trio, and this one sounds absolutely incredible. 🤤

Three distinct 6" layers make up this masterpiece:

Stubbs and Bella found their homes today! ❤️

We sent 2 special dogs off to Colorado this morning! Our transport was originally going to be bigger, but due to unforseen circumstances we had to make some adjustments. But we didn't want to make these 2 sweethearts wait a minute longer to find their families! They are on to happier days, but we still need your help!
