🎉 FREEDOM RIDE FOR THADDEUS! 🎉

Today was supposed to be a simple trip to deliver Pops for Pups treats to the dogs at the shelter.

Instead, Thaddeus found his way out. ❤️

Thaddeus came to the Amarillo shelter as a puppy back in February and somehow spent months growing up behind kennel walls. As other dogs left, he stayed. He eventually became the shelter's longest resident and found himself on the urgent list.

But today, everything changed.

One of our fosters met Thaddeus while delivering popsicles, fell completely in love, and couldn't leave him behind. So instead of ending his day in a kennel, Thaddeus is spending tonight in a home.

After months of waiting, he's finally safe.

We already know Thaddeus does well with other dogs and passed his cat test at the shelter. Now he'll get the chance to decompress, learn about life outside the shelter, and show everyone who he really is.

Thank you to his foster for opening your home and giving this sweet boy the chance he deserved. We can't wait to watch his next chapter unfold.

Transport Day!!!

This morning, we sent 23 cats and dogs out to our trusted rescue partners in Colorado! We often get asked why we sent out of state. The truth is, some states (like Colorado) have better regulations in place regarding animals, and that prevents them from having as much of an overpopulation problem as we do here in the Texas Panhandle. Animals sit in our foster homes for weeks, sometimes months, waiting to find their families. And while we love each and every one of them, sending them to foster homes in other states clears out our fosters here, thus opening up space for us to save more from our local shelters. ❤

Don't worry, we still have PLENTY of furry faces waiting to be adopted locally. They will all be at Petco every Sunday 12-4 this summer!

We are extremely grateful to our fosters, volunteers, rescue partners, and donors for helping us continue to make an impact in our area! We truly couldn't do this without you all!
