After 35 years of dedicated service, Captain Sherry Washington delivered her final radio call. Throughout her remarkable career, she served in numerous roles, including Sergeant of Correctional Officers, Lieutenant of Correctional Officers, Release Lieutenant, Captain of Correctional Officers, Disciplinary Captain, and was a CRISP Member.
Captain Washington went above and beyond, providing memorable employee appreciation meals, organized fundraisers to contribute generously to SECC. Her leadership, commitment, and compassion made a lasting impact on staff, staff's families and the facility.
Captain Washington, the amount of people that showed up for your retirement speaks volumes of the impact you've made and the legacy you leave behind. Your leadership and dedication created bonds that will last long beyond the walls.

Powerful messages and words of encouragement and inspiration were shared with the incarcerated men at the Bill Clements Unit during a Drug Free Rally that was held this week. This event served as a reminder that change is possible, help is available and every person has the opportunity to choose a better path. This rally was a time for motivation, reflection, and renewed determination to pursue transformation and a drug free life. Thank you to all the guest speakers, volunteers, Chaplaincy staff and our unit warden for taking a step to make a change !
