Jesus is my shelter!

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble.”
— Psalm 46:1

Imagine This!

Have you ever been outside when a big storm started?

What would you do?

You would probably run inside a safe house where the rain, wind, and thunder couldn’t hurt you.

A shelter is a safe place where we can go when we are afraid or in danger.

The Bible tells us that Jesus is our safe place. When we feel scared, worried, lonely, or sad, we can run to Him.

We can pray and tell Him exactly how we feel.

Jesus may not always make the storm disappear right away, but He promises to be with us through the storm. We never have to face difficult things alone.

Remember:

When you are afraid, say:

“Jesus, You are my shelter. I can trust You because You are always with me.”

Baptism is an important step of faith in the Christian life. It is a public declaration of our faith in Jesus Christ and a symbol of our new life in HIM.

Through baptism, we identify with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection and show our desire to follow HIM.

Baptism does not replace faith, but it is an act of obedience to Jesus and a testimony of what He has done in our lives. It reminds us that our old life has been left behind and that we have been called to walk in a new life with Christ.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
— Matthew 28:19

WE ARE SO PROUD OF OUR MEMBERS.

How do I know that I’m being saved?

• Making every effort to win the RACE.

• You are being FRUIT.

• Feel conviction when you fall into SIN.

• Have a fear of HELL.

• Have a desire to go to HEAVEN.

“Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”
Philippians 2:12-13

There is a difference between earning salvation and working out your salvation.

We cannot buy our way into heaven. We cannot be good enough to make God owe us eternal life. Salvation is a gift of God through faith in Jesus Christ. But once we have received that gift, God calls us to live like we truly belong to Him.

Jesus never promised that following Him would be easy.

He said:

“If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.”
— Luke 9:23

That takes commitment.

It takes prayer when you don't feel like praying.
It takes obedience when obedience is difficult.
It takes walking away from sin when sin is tempting.
It takes forgiving when you would rather hold a grudge.
It takes getting back up when you fall.
It takes trusting God when you cannot see what He is doing.

You have to put in the work.

Paul compared the Christian life to a race:

“Let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus.”
— Hebrews 12:1–2

A runner doesn't prepare for a race by sitting on the sidelines. They train. They discipline themselves. They endure pain. They keep going when they are tired.

Likewise, our walk with Christ requires spiritual discipline.

We read the Word.
We pray.
We worship.
We serve.
We repent.
We forgive.
We resist temptation.
We love people.
We keep trusting God.

Not because these things purchase heaven, but because they demonstrate that our faith is alive.

James tells us:

“Faith without works is dead.”
— James 2:26

Real faith changes how you live.

There will be days when you stumble. There will be days when you get discouraged. There will be moments when you wonder whether you can keep going.

Keep running.

Don't let one failure convince you that you should quit. Repent, get back up, and keep following Jesus.

The Christian life isn't about being perfect. It's about being faithful.

Paul said near the end of his life:

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”
— 2 Timothy 4:7

That's the goal.

Finish the race. Keep the faith. Make it to the end.

Heaven is worth the struggle.

Jesus is worth the sacrifice.

Eternity is worth saying no to temporary pleasures.

Your soul is worth fighting for.

So don't become comfortable in your faith.

Pray harder.
Study deeper.
Love stronger.
Serve faithfully.
Repent quickly.
Endure patiently.
Keep your eyes on Jesus.

And remember: you aren't running this race by your own strength.

Philippians 2:13 says that God is working in you giving you both the desire and the ability to do His will.

So put in the work, but trust the ONE who gives you the strength to do it.

One day, if we remain faithful, we will hear those beautiful words:

“Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”
— Matthew 25:21

Don't quit. Don't turn back. Keep running.

Heaven is ahead.

🌎✨ Tell the World About Jesus! ✨🌎

What a wonderful time our Kids in Christ had learning about the Great Commission! ❤️

This week, our kids discovered that Jesus calls every one of us to share His love with the world. Through Bible lessons, crafts, games, and lots of smiles, they were reminded that no one is too young to make a difference for God’s Kingdom.

📖 “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” — Mark 16:15

We are so proud of these amazing kids as they continue to grow in their faith and learn what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus. 💚 Please continue to pray that they will be bold, kind, and unashamed to share the love of Christ wherever they go!

💙 Jesus loves you.
