Happy New Year, everyone!
A new year and a new song. If you haven't yet, go check it out at the link below.
We Need Good Conversations is a pretty, jangle-y song written and recorded on an old acoustic guitar. I'm very happy with the way it turned out, and I really hope you enjoy it.
I'm planning to share more music with you this yea, r which will most likely come in the form of more sketches and demos.
Here's to a good 2025.
Take care.

New Song Released Today: We Need Good Conversations. Visit my Bandcamp page to Listen
Originally written and recorded during the Fall of 2023, I was inspired to come up with a song using an old acoustic guitar while visiting family.
This became a songwriting exercise in setting restrictions with the final result becoming a little acoustic pop song of sorts. I was tempted to add more instrumentation, but I ultimately felt it would take something away from the song rather than add to it. The less is more approach.
We Need Good Conversations is about simplicity, longing, and how frail our relationships can feel. In a world that is growing more tumultuous, it becomes more clear how much we need each other and especially how much we all need good conversations with one another.

The current dilemma... So much great music and artists to support, but when?

Merry Holidays, friends.
I'll be dropping a new song before the new year, first on Bandcamp, and then to streaming services.
We Need Good Conversations is an instrumental acoustic song I wrote and recorded last year, and I'm eager to finally release it. I can elaborate a bit more on the details soon.

Last week, I said goodbye to my dad. He was a wonderful dad and a tremendous person with a lot of humor and a heart to serve others. He is greatly missed, and I realized just recently that I haven't allowed myself the proper time to grieve.
I'm very thankful, though, for family and friends. The ones who are willing to walk with you in this life.

Hi friends.
I imagine some might be wondering where I've been and what I've been up to. Some big changes occurred this year. I went job hunting, which was both scary and exciting. Thankfully, I was able to secure a really good new job rather quickly. Then, shortly after, I unfortunately lost my dad to health complications. I've been in this strange state of transition for a little while, and as I'm also a busy husband and father, recording music has taken a backseat as I need to focus on other things.
I am, however, playing a lot of guitar, and I'm starting to feel much more confident and creative as a player. I've been encouraged by my progress, and playing has become a sort of therapeutic element.
I promise that I will have new music coming but not quite in the way I originally planned and realizing I need to readjust a few things.
In the meantime, please take care.

Post Beryl update:
It was an exhausting couple of days, but the family and I are well. I am feeling very grateful for friends and family while realizing things could have been much worse. Prior to the storm, we've had a spot on the ceiling affected by water damage. My wife and I woke up very early to the sound of dripping water. So buckets were placed down and then tried going back to sleep. Shot out of bed at 3:30am to the sound of a crash and realized the rain had put that spot out of its misery. Never went back to sleep...
I'm not sure how much I'll be able to see in my little Texas town, but Buc-ee and I will be ready. People from Texas will understand. In lieu of this once in a lifetime celestial event, my daughter and I came up with an impromptu jam, which you're hearing now.
Stay safe out there, follow safety instructions, and have fun. The weirdo alert is on high.

Sketch 2 is now up for everyone to check out. As the name suggests, this is a song idea where I wanted to share some of my creative process. I'm not sure how consistent I'll be with this, but I want to continue releasing these little ideas and see where they go.
Give a listen on the link below and give a Like or Follow if you enjoy what you hear. Thanks.

Hi friends. I hope everyone is having a good year so far. While I've been busy wrapping up the new songs I was talking about back in December, I've also been spending a lot of time practicing guitar. In that time, I had a thought that I should begin sharing some lo-fi song ideas. This would be a way to help with motivation and get some creative juices flowing.
So, this Friday, February 23rd, on my Bandcamp, Soundcloud, and BandLab pages, I'll be publishing a continuation of my song Sketches appropriately titled Sketch 2. If you like this idea, I can publish more. Stay tuned, and if you are not following my music pages yet, please do so. Take care.
