Lillian is looking towards retirement! Our beautiful space will soon be available. I discovered this place almost 20 years ago. The distinctive character and charm of my work space has been a joy to work in. The high ceilings, multi level work area has helped the business to thrive. I have loved coming to work everyday these past years. Students and clients have also loved coming to By Design. The next lucky tenant will enjoy the versatility of this space along with adjacent parking and a great view of the river.

By Design, an established custom sewing and tailoring business of 19 years in Alton Illinois, is for sale. We are located at 136 Front Street, Alton Illinois in the maker's district of Downtown Alton. Owner is retiring by the end of the year. Business is for sale as a whole minus personal sewing machines. By Design is having a kids Sewing Class making a School ID Lanyard!
- Class will be held on August 6th, from 12pm to 2pm.
- The cost is $30 it includes supplies, use of our sewing machines, and an assortment of fabric to choose from!
- Introductory sewing class for boys and girls ages 8 and up.

Red, White, and Blue Rag Wreath: Wednesday June 18th, 12pm to 2pm

-Everyone will have fun ripping fabric, cutting to size, and tying onto a wire frame to create a fun patriotic wreath.
-Introductory class for anyone ages 8 and up!
-$40.00 - Includes all supplies. (Fabric designs may vary.)

By Design was invited to a really fun career day at the East Alton Middle School. We were one of 19 participants that came out to tell the students about our careers. Thank you EAMS for inviting us to come out today!

We brought a selection of handmade and altered Bridal gowns to the Post Commons Bridal Show.
