Happy Autumn AFTER SCHOOL!
Last week we fully embraced the fall, the weather and the changes!
With art projects centered around leaves like making our own "Marbled Shaving Cream Fall Leaf Print Art". Playing with shaving foam is always a good time, but make it colorful and make it permanent and viola, that's what we got to do in the WOLF PACK!
Next, as scientists we got to try a "Leaf Pigment Extraction" experiment! This time we got to shred green leaves before their colors changed into small jars, pour rubbing alcohol in small amounts over them and some hot water; managed by me of course. Last we had to a coffee filter to absorb and wait for the liquid to travel up and spread into hands of either yellow, green, orange or brown. Then we hypothesized and absorbed! The results varied and were exciting to watch!
My favorite part of the week was a apple party for the new season. Popcorn, jam, crisps, oh My!
With the addition of the musical narration of "Peter & the Wolf " for fall music and learning new instruments, it was truly a learning week.

Pre-K painted acorns with acorns this week!

The kids creativity in after school are out of this world.
Last week we explored the ecosystem and surrounding environments! One of the environment being as far as SPACE. One of the art projects the kids favored was the "Negative Space Tape Resist Constellations".
See the students and I use tape to block out light, creating a night sky representation through negative space painting!
Hope to keep learning and making spaces that can help learn the world we grow in.

Happy 1st day of Fall from Pre-K!

Our color for the week was green, triangle, and #3. We finished our day with painting turtles, having a green snack of guacamole dip, and learning how to string triangles to make necklace.

Pre-K learned about the color yellow this week by painting suns, buses and making banana pudding.
