The school is located in Altamonte Springs, Florida, which is about 15 miles outside of Orlando, Florida. Spring Lake has been a Five Star School for the past 8 years. Nomie Kuniak, Assistant Principals, Dr. Tony Oglesby and Dr. Danielle Alchin and School Administrative Manager, Mrs. Lyssa Marquez are committed to setting a standard of excellence. The current focus for Spring Lake Elementary is the revitalization of classroom instruction utilizing current technology and research to promote positive collaboration, enhance learning and create a respectful climate that will encourage students to reach their learning potential. Dual Language Program
The Dual Language Program goal has been established as, "Empowering students to become bilingual, bi-literate, and bicultural individuals who will be successful members of a global society.โ Our students will:
*Become bilingual, bi-literate and bicultural
*Achieve academic excellence in two languages
*Develop cultural awareness and sensitivity
The program immerses students in language which helps them to develop higher order thinking skills. Language is all about meaning and communication, and dual language builds a rich foundation. It develops grade-level language proficiency for English and Spanish speakers, as well as accelerates academic achievement in reading, mathematics, science and social studies for English Language Learners. Cooperation and teamwork are also fostered. These objectives are all in line with our school mission of: โFacilitating a positive environment where every person experiences success and develops necessary tools to be a productive and responsible citizen in our global society.โ
The Dual Language Program is offered to students in the Spring Lake attendance zone in Grades K-5. Student enrollment is based on an application process. Once the classes in each grade level are filled to capacity, applications will be added to a waiting list. Applications are available by attending one of the information sessions, and through the school office.

While learning about the U.S. Constitution and how it protects citizensโ freedom of speech, our students put their reading skills to work! ๐บ๐ธ๐
Through R.3.3: Comparative Reading, students identified similarities and differences between informational texts and used evidence to explain and support their thinking. ๐ง โจ
