His department was recently honored with the 2025 FRPA Public Relations Award for its Vintage Park Poster Challenge.

That's why GROW Recess is putting simple, low-tech gear (jump ropes, balls, cones, and scoops) directly into K-5 classrooms across Central Florida.

The impact? Massive. In 2026 alone, they packed 1,200+ kits for 41 schools across 9 counties—reaching nearly 23,000 students. Since 2015, that's over 50,000 kids served and $220,000 invested in the power of play across Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, and Volusia.

Because sometimes, the best learning tool is a good old-fashioned jump rope. 🙌
