On the previous day, Beth Colberson and Carol Wehrman made significant contributions, including four garbage bags containing sheets and towels and foam bed rolls, respectively. I loaded these items into my vehicle and transported them downtown to an area where homeless individuals reside. Initially, I arrived at 2:30 pm to find the area deserted. After completing my tasks, I returned to find a small gathering of people. The recent cooler evenings were noticeable, and one individual expressed appreciation for the donated sheet, stating it would provide adequate warmth for a restful night's sleep.
Upon inquiring about the usual crowd, he explained that most were employed and at work, which seemed unlikely given the large number. He said “We all work and everyone is working.”.
