Yesterday a special little girl arrived in RWL.
Her name is Minerva.

She is approximately 12 years young and the sweetest Jack Russell you could ever imagine.

She has a few issues such as dental disease, but her main problem is she has very, very raw feet.

We have started testing to find out the cause and treatment of bacteria (the feet are infected) so it will be a little while before we can get her healing and comfortable.

We have run bloods, and done a heartworm test (negative) and started her on some mite prevention but her heart is good, and her ears and eyes are great, and we hope that she will become a healthy and happy little girl with treatment.

This girl is absolutely incredible. Ronda is staying at our hospital until we get all her testing back. We are waiting on her PCR and f***l results. She is scheduled to be spayed next Thursday. The bad news is she is depressed in the hospital so we are going to see about having some friends go visit her, take her on walks and some adventures until she can get out of there. Ronda was set to be killed at the @lancasteranimalslaco last Thursday but we were able to get her out just in time. She is young and was kenneled with two different male dogs and did great. So her being alone at the hospital is hard for her. She is so sweet and wants love so badly. We were also saddened to learn her liver alt level is quite high and we believe it was due to blunt force trauma. Either a kick, punch or possibly grazed by a car. We have her on a liver supplement now and will recheck her in 3 weeks. This girl is extremely special. She is gentle and loving and soulful. Whoever gets the honor of sharing their life with her will be a better person. She has touched the hearts of everyone she encounters and she is deserving of a loving home to call her own.
